Biergarten German Pub and Restaurant, Kowloon

Hi, I went there for the first time 1987 and it was great than. This visit was just as good. I even met up with a good friend of mine. Highly recommended.

I travel on business and usually dine alone. I was refused a proper table and expected to perch on a stool, and eat at the bar, since I was alone. I left. Didn't try the food. Never will.

Service was extremely slow and very unhelpful. There was no drinks menue at the bar. We had to ask for it. Then we asked for food menues and were told there were none aailable and we had to wait. After 40 minutes we left.

My boyfriend is German and he was desperate for german beer during our trip in Hong Kong. We also celebrated new year's eve there! Great atmosphere! We really enjoyed our time there. Food is fine but of course, there is a difference with the "real" german food. Bretzel is really not that bad.

It's now more than 15 year ago, I was there. Sometimes I was 3-4 times a year in Hongkong and every evening I vistited Biergarten. Somebody remember to Ute ? The German girl behind the desk? She offered the best German Weisswurst for Sunday morning Fr�hschoppen. My Hotel was Holiday Inn Habour View (later on Grand Standord) and so I had to walk only 5 or 10 minutes to Biergarten. Great place for food, drinks and fun. Loads of Germans are visiting this place frequently. There is a regulars table of Germans, giving this place a unique German touch away from "home". Fantastic choice of cold cut and sausages, imported from Germany. Perfectly good german beer. Not so good for families with small children, since this place is usually very busy. Set lunch is provided from 12 to 14 o'clock, every weekday. Costs vary from 48 - 64 Dollars. Set lunch includes: Soup of the day, salad, main course, dessert, soda water and coffee. Main course can be chosen between 4 different meals. Good portions - German style are normal.
