Verandah, Tsin Shui wan

Claustrophobics will enjoy the spacious interior of Verandah, a colonial-style restaurant on the southern side of Hong Kong Island, situated among the leafier areas of well-to-do Repulse Bay. Tall, classical columns and attractive balustrades provide a much-needed alternative to the concrete wilderness that has taken over much of Hong Kong. Tea comes in many guises and there are plenty of cake choices. If you really want to go for the full-on afternoon tea experience, you will pay around HKD300 a head. An enforced dress code means play the part--smart-casual is the order of the day.
