Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, the following description may no longer be accurate. Please consider this when making your travel plans. Whenever you are in New Orleans for business or pleasure, a must stop is Magazine Street. This is the one street that has it all no matter what your shopping needs may be. Whatever you're looking for from women's fashion (Total Woman), men's fashion (Style Lab for Men), vintage clothing (Recycled), children's clothing (Pippen Lane), shoes (Feet First), or accessories (Filly Handbags & Accessories), Magazine Street has it. When you start to work up an appetite, every taste can be satisfied from seafood (Casamento's Restaurant), French (Lilette Restaurant), Mexican (Nacho Mama's Mexican Grill), southern (Upperline Restaurant), farmer's markets (Crescent City Farmers Market), chocolates (Blue Frog Chocolates), cafe's (PJ's Coffee and Tea Co.), or bars (St. Joe's Bar).

Closed on Sundays
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/07
It looked very interesting only it was closed on Sundays. The restaurants were open, but surely in this day and age vacationers expect to shop on Sunday. However, I will return some time soon as N.O. is my home town and actually my mother was born on Magazine St.in 1900. It's definitely changed from when I was a kid. Keep up the good work!

Not My Cup of Tea
By TushannaB, 07/27/06
Interesting drive. Blocks and blocks of "antiques stores" (over priced junk shops in my opinion). Another section has blocks of cute little speciality boutiques and swanky coffee shops (not my thing). Limited or no on street parking. Be prepared to park a couple of blocks away on a side street and do some hiking. Not my cup of tea, but my mother loved it. Would probably appeal to many people.
