This to begin with is not your typical Japanese restuarant. The items on the menu (not including sushi, main course) is too American Food. What i thought would have been fried rice, was steamed rice with some vegetables in it. the chicken was a whole piece of chicken with teriyaki sauce thrown on top.. I have had better!!! Much better. However, for the first time EVER I tried sushi, and I actually liked it. and the appetizers were good too!!!! But for a main course meal, dont do it!!!

The best place to eat sushi in Clarksville! Some of our favorite rolls are the Superbowl, the Sakura, the Sweetheart, Spicy Tuna, the dragon roll i think it is called (eel, avocado) the only roll we ordered and didnt prefer is the Cowboy (steak and asparagus..yeah it was different..) Ive had the seaweed salad and it is really tasty as well. The miso soup is not the best and the house salad ginger dressing I have had better but the sushi is always great! We also like the Cream Cheese Delights for an appetizer they are kind of like a crab rangoon but better! all in all it is a great restaurant, we have never had a bad experience with the service or anything.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary yesterday and this is probably one of the worst Japanese places I've went to if not THE worst. The sushi was cold (ex: I got the Bentley roll which had baked Salmon on top and that was cold). It tasted like it was premade and taken out of a fridge, poured some eel sauce on top and served. To me, only a slight bit better than the sushi you get at a chinese buffet. My husband got the teriyaki steak and that was awful as well. I do have to say that they give you a lot for your money, the rolls are huge. The staff was ok. Our waiter must have been having a bad night, not sure. But we felt pretty rushed the whole night. I think the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars, not 1 is because the restaurant itself was very beautiful. It has a nice, romantic setting. But we won't be going back for seconds.

After living in Clarksville for almost a year we found this gem of a restaurant. We were very impressed and felt like we had been transported to a 5 star restaurant in New York City. Very good food and a big city feel.

Lived in Clarksville for three months, and Kohana and Silkes are the only places that make dining here bearable. I love it. The Sweetheart Roll is great.

A most great place for excellent sushi. I like the 101st and the Phoenix rolls... everything I've had here is excellent. Good service, friendly staff...one of my favorite places to go eat in Clarksville. I just wish they were open on Sunday.

I have been to Kohana twice. If you like sushi, the Amazing Grace is awesome. The other food is good but not the best. If you go during lunch time the food is much cheaper for the same portion and is really worth it. The soup isn't very good, the salad is good, the sauces are interesting. Overall I went back a second time so I obviously liked it enough to go back. If you don't like sushi, this is a good place to start because you get some very different tasting sushi, some even incorporating cooked steak. :)

I'm cheating... this isn't a review, it's a question. Overall, how is the sushi, price and atmosphere? I just moved to Clarks. from Nashville and am spoiled. I would rather shoot myself in the foot than eat buffet sushi. I want the fresh stuff! But I'm cheap, too. : ) And I like a cozy atmosphere. What do ya'll think?

YOU WILL BE BETTER SERVED TO GO TO YAMOTO'S OR HANANOKI. My daughter & I went to Kohana last night for dinner. I was impressed with the look & decor. The staff was pleasant. That's where the good things I have to say about this restaurant end. I ordered nigiri sushi which was not the freshest or worst I've ever had, but certainly not the best I've eaten. My daughter ordered the steak teriyaki, without the teriyaki sauce. What she received on her plate was not edible. The RIBEYE steak was nothing but fat. I'm aware that the flavor of a ribeye comes from marbling, but this steak had huge deposits of fat, not marbling. I'm willing to bet my lunch money the miso soup comes out of a package, because I've got some in my cupboard right now from Walmart. The salad dressing was nothing but minced ginger & vinegar, quite disgusting. The fried rice was not actually fried rice, either. It had no soy sauce what so ever. My daughter ate a piece of lettuce, a spoon of soup, and cut off a piece of steak for her & then for me after she tried it. I tried her soup, salad, & fried rice, as well. The quality of her dinner was subpar at best. I was sorely disappointed. When I received my check, it had a cost of $45. I was charged for my daughter's meal that was nothing but foul. I spoke to a manager that informed me it was the owner's policy that if a customer is offered something else but chooses to decline, they are to be charged for the original meal. I told her that was fine but I'd never come back to the restaurant. When the server came back to collect the check, I instructed him that if I am to be charged for the meal, I want it remade. I took the meal to go & dropped it off to my boyfriend. I asked him later on yesterday evening how it was...He ate the steak & tossed the rest...This was our first & last experience at Kohana. I would not suggest this place to anyone.
