Geisha Japanese Steakhouse, Chesapeake

My wife and I ate here twice this week. We went the first time to celebrate a birthday and were so impressed that we went back 3 days later to see if it was a fluke. I m thrilled to say that it was even better the second time! Unbelieveable. Finally a Japanese Steakhouse in Virginia that really knows how to cook Hibachi food. Service was excellent on both trips. We didn t try the sushi so I cannot comment on that. My only complaint is the prices are a little high, but for the quality of food and service I guess that should be expected. Great Job!

Well, we will start with the entrance door, the setting and the ambience, you can really feel the authentic and warm Japanese theme, it's like you are entering the famous Takeshi's Castle in Japan. Then, we'll move on with the staff, from the reception desk to our table, Geisha people have been very polite with smiling faces and did a great job with excellent customer service and with special mention for Gerry (the big boss who tried his very best to attend and to resolve all special requests of everybody) and Jonjon (our professional Chef for best and exquisite taste of our orders with awesome showmanship and tricks while cooking that's why we enjoyed a lot every single moment today, May 6, 2008 between 8:00PM-9:00PM). My family and I will give Gerry, Jonjon and our Server (I'm sorry, we forgot her name) a 10 out of 10 or 5 Stars Rating Over-all. With our soups and salads, taste better than any other Japanese Steakhouse we've been to. Even our orders, chicken teriyaki, filet mignon, lobster tails, scallops, shrimps and vegetables were really cooked the way we want them. A job well done for Gerry (the boss), our server (the pretty Filipina) & Jonjon (the Chef from Cavite) again. For these reasons, me and my family will surely visit Geisha regularly or keep coming back for more as we will pass these impressive comments and reviews to our other relatives and friends. Food was okay, fried rice was dry. I was disappointed with the service,I asked if they had Kobe beef since I saw Kobe shrimp on the menu and the server said yes,but when my order was being cooked it was the Kobe shrimp,I am allergic to shrimp so I could not enjoy it and when I told the server she did not offer another choice,so I had fried rice, some steak from my boyfriend's plate and vegetables. The worst experience was the chef,he was VERY unprofessional and made my girlfriend very uncomfortable by being inappropriate and when he served her her fried rice portion it was in a shape of a male body part. To add insult to injury he tossed a hot shrimp at her purposely to get it in her cleavage.He succeeded and also burned her skin. We are never going back there again. Was not worth the price and the constant harassment of ordering alcoholic drinks for a bigger check.

I went there on Halloween night and it was a lot of fun. Everyone was dressed up and extremely friendly. We ordered the philly roll and the california roll. Our order arrived quickly. The rolls were really fresh and tasty! The best though was the MONKEY BRAIN roll. I was mesmerized! It was sooo delicious! No joke.

I think this is the best Japanese Restaurant in Hampton Roads. Great Food! Great Staff! Very Eclectic! I love the sushi specially the monkey brain and the volacano roll.
