let me keep it simple. I found the food quite good, but a bit pricey. I haven't rushed back there, but I would if friends wanted to go. Your not at a loss for trying it.

Dining on the water is never cheap- that's a fact. Nonetheless, the food was appropriately priced. We ate brunch there on Sunday morning and it was delicious! We had fresh squeezed blood orange juice, and great bloody mary's to drink. For our meals, I had the eastern omelet and my friend had the salmon plate. Both were yummy! The salmon was fresh and of great quality. Our servers took some time to move around, but there seemed to be a lot going on behind the scenes. Besides, its not a fast food restaurant- good service takes time and thought!

what an enjoyable evening at the Salt Water Beach Cafe. My husband and I sat outside on the boardwalk and ejoyed a tender strip steak cooked to perfection. We were very pleased with the service. Our server was very knowledable about the menu and offered great suggestions. We tried the scallops appetizer served with an orange glaze. I would go back for that dish alone! We even caught some fireworks from out table. Check this place out if you haven't yet been.

The setting is fantastic, but the service and food certainely is not. Two of us felt sick instantly after eating a fish meal. I would not recommend eating here, unless you were only having drinks in the outdoor seating area.

i come here regularly for the food. the food is awsome, but often they are out of ingredients and substitute, which isnt really a pleasant surprise when you're looking for the amazing potato chips and end up with a few dinky bits of lettuce. every time i go i have to flag down a waitress and seat ourselves, as the hostess is either out of it or missing. service spotty, but friendly. If you go, its worth it for the food, but be prepared to hunt down servers for anything you need - a table, silverware, menus, drinks, and the bill.

What a stunning location! We were visiting the Jersey shore yesterday into last night and found this gem! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by two beautiful hostesses who offered us inside or out dining. We opted outside. The hostess informed us the menu was the same for either venu. The offerings are very varied, both in product as well as price. We started with the artisinal cheese platter, it was to die for! We each had a ceasar salad, delicious and what a beautiful presentation with the parmesan tuille center of the plate. For our mains we had the halibut and the New Jersy sea scallops. The chef (andrew?) came out to our table to see how we were enjoying everything and even let us know that the scallops were from Barnegat Light! Wow. Also, almost all the produce is local as well! The bill came to about 110 for two, including drinks. Very fair for the experience and we will certainly be back.

I grew up right here in Asbury Park. This place has a beautiful view but the food is subpar and overpriced. The service is lacking but friendly. We had to ask for bread. Our bill was $200 for four, no drinks, no appetizers, two desserts and four coffees. Considering what we had the small portion size and taste of food(nothing special) it IS overpriced! Also the entree only comes with a salad or vegetable, no potato, rice or pasta. I had the grilled scallops and it came with a small salad on the same plate. Not worth the money to me!

Wow. I was at the Lou Reed concert Thursday night and we happened upon this restaurant. Really top-flight food and fantastic service. The room is beautiful, well apointed tables and a fantastic view. The menu is amazing. Chef Andrew and Paul (the owner?) were talking to us about the new touches and a supper club that's opening upstairs. Our server (Danielle ?) was great - said she came from Houston's. It showed. Everything was perfect. We Will Be Back!

We went to this restaurant for New Year's Eve and had an all around great time. The food was fantastic, the drinks were strong and well made, and the band was really rockin'. I would definitely go back and would recommend the Saltwater Beach Cafe to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience at a beautiful location on the beach.
