This is the best Steak House Ever, absolutely amazing steaks! When I first heard about this place it sounded to good to be true, all you can eat sirloin steak? had to be cafeteria style or something low quality, nope these are the best sirloins you will ever eat! the first one that comes out is a huge 16oz steak with the Perfect amount of searing on the outside and nice and pink in the middle, if you can get through the first steak for some reason the seconds are always even better! Dont be a wuss get the ALL YOU CAN EAT! My best is 5 steaks, can you beat that? WHat!?!?
If you are looking for a hot, sizzling steak, cooked to perfection, then Stockman’s is your place! My wife and I both got the rib eye (Rare Plus for me and Medium Rare for her), and this was how we received them. Such a pleasure to eat a steak that is cooked just how you want it. In addition, the kids meals are large and the service was excellent. Indeed, our server, Paul P., made an excellent wine recommendation for our meal, and an even better recommendation for an after dinner beer (i.e., Koko-Brown).
Would not recommend going on a Saturday at 2:30 PM when only about 10 people were there. I ordered their signature peppercorn and bleu cheese steak. It did arrive about 10 minutes later, but unfortunately I did not get either my salad nor my bread. I had been forgotten. I had her take my steak back since she had to go get my salad and break and I did not want to eat a cold steak.
When my steak came, it was medium with virtually not redness inside, not medium rare like ordered (per the guidelines inside their menu. I suspect the oven was used because even my steak knife was hot to the touch.
Yes the steak was good, but the service was very much lacking.
My family and I went to Stockman's last night and had by far the best dinner in a long time. We had the Rancher Burger and it was very very very good, the BBQ sauce was sweet and smooth, definitly a great hamburger, my brother had the Blackened Cajun Sirloin and it was out of the world good. Prime rib was great too. The service was great, the greeter was nice and our waitress was really great and friendly too. We are from Preston, ID and would definitly make the drive again to eat there.
I recently dinned at Stockmans Restaurant in Idaho Falls Idaho. When we first arived we were greeted quickly and sat in a very comfortable booth. My Wife and I decided to have an appetizer, the waiter sugested the Schrimp Scampi. Wow! they looked like little lobsters and tasted like seafood candy! For Dinner Tina ordered Zesty Salmon, I had the Meditereanan Ribeye... I'm in love.. It had roasted garlic and mushrooms, all gooed together with this extremely rich Garlic Parmesan sauce and of course half a dozen good size shrimp. The Wifes Salmon was a little spicy, not hot just right, it was served very artfully with lightly sauteed zuccini and broccoli. The baked potato on her plate was adequate, nothing specal. I had the sweet potato fries, which reminded me of sweet carnival funnel, yum! We had no room left but the waiter was so persuasive with his Cheesecake pitch that we obliged. Thank you for being such a suggestive waiter.... best cheesecake I have ever tried... It was called Loco Coco nut. It tastes like cheesecake and almond joy candy bar had a baby and named it Loco Co Co nut. Thank You Stockmans for a wonderfull night, and make sure if your in the area to go to Stockmans
Arrived at the new location down by the Snake River, expected an experienced staff and a good steakhouse. Neither seemed to be present. Arrived for a 30 minute wait outside, good signs of a productive place, so I thought. Once seated, spent another 30 minutes waiting for my order to be taken. Upon arrival of the house salad, I found it to be rather rushed together. For the price of the meal, this was an immediate concern. My hopes continued to vanish as my meal arrived minus the backed potato I had ordered. I was told that they are out. Rather a surprise given that it is Idaho, Land of the potato, and there is also a Walmart full of them, just down the street. The steak was rather rushed together, showing signs of yet again cut corners in the back of house. They substituted in another side, that seemed clearly nuked in a microwave. The whole experience was a definite disappointment. Signs of a restaurant that just can't cut it with a full house. Waiters seemed confused and at odds with messages from the back of house. Clearly some large issues of communication. It was overall an extremely disappointing meal for the hugely priced cost of the ticket. Certainly not competitive with other steakhouse options around town who charge similar or even cheaper tickets. Stockman's was willing to comp the ticket, something I refused. It seemed to be a rehearsed line to wash their hands of poor service. Additionally, I was later told that potatoes were in fact not out, but just behind in baking. An option that was not presented initially, which means they either do not talk to the back of house, or it was a clean cut lie. Very disappointing it was to be a hopeful and promising night of enjoyment. I will not return...
I love the decor at Stockmans, table cloths and a gorgeous fireplace make this place just perfect for my wife and I on our date night. Did I mention the food and service are top notch and the Cheesecake is to die for.
