Description

Our Founder, Pete ZaPigh (Za-Pie), an obscure French fur trapper of humble and indeed rather questionable origin, first appeared in the Idaho Springs area at about the time of the Colorado Gold Rush. How he got here is a matter of continuing speculation, the most popular theory being that of spontaneous generation. A second line of thought maintains that he arrived by cab from Trenton, New Jersey. Fortunately for the many devotees of Beau JoA-s Pizza, Pete possessed a somewhat less than working knowledge of natural history, and was attempting to trap a woolly mammoth, an animal for which there was little demand and even less supply. After several years of fruitless effort, ZaPigh decided that perhaps a new career was in order.

Icky, I've tried three times to get a vegetarian pizza, and I end up with cheese, and more cheese, you need a microscope to find any veggies!!!! However if your looking for meat, you've found the right place.

I always eat at BeauJo's in Idaho Springs. It's just great coming down from the mountains and stopping in to have their awesome pizza. I went to the one here in Boulder and it's just not the same. The food is great, make sure you get the bottle of honey for your crust, but it's just too open for me. I like the coziness of Idaho Springs better, but the food is still just as good. I am not a pizza person, but I like the pizza here. Their twisted and original crust is just scrumptious. I would recommend the outside patio when it's nice rather than the main dinning room. It has a small town feel, with young families, college kids and the elderly crowd you don't always see together in one place in Boulder. I like it a lot, but still am partial to Idaho Springs.
