Sake Sushi Bar and Grill
Sake Sushi Bar & Grill began with four partners who had a dream to bring great tasting, affordable sushi to the O'Fallon, IL area. Come visit us sometime soon and see why Sake Sushi Bar & Grill is the favorite place for more and more people to get great sushi and Japanese cuisine in the st. Louis Metro East area.
I am writing this review a little over a year after the fact. The last time I was there was right before I left for Korea. This place is one of the two best places I have gone to for Sushi and Sashimi. I really like their Las Vegas Roll(Samon, Avacado, Cream Cheese and Crab Stick rolled and then fried in tempura). The Korean-American cheifs are very good at catering to the Amreican pallet while still maitaining the atmosphere and theme of a Izakaya. Miss Ester is a very good waitress, and Mr. Kim Sun is a master of his craft. Every time I have gone in, I have asked for his recommendation which cut of fish I should have for the day.
Like Mr. J I've had sushi all over, including a great deal in Japan, Hawaii, and Guam, and Sake does a nice job. It's definitely the best I've had in the area. Big fan of the bentos! And I agree it's a little pricy. I normally drop at least $100 for my family of four. Never had bad service. I recommend it often to my friends...it's one of our local favorites.
I went there with some friends thinking this was supposed to be hibachi style. When we got their and found out that it wasn't we decided to stay anyways because its conveniently located right across the street from the movie theatre. We all decided on sushi instead and I have to say some of the best I've had in a while. Its not to big and has a really nice atmosphere. We called ahead about 30 minutes before we were supposed to get there to see if they would have room for about 8. She said since they weren't that busy they would save a table for us. And sure enough when we got there it was all ready for us to sit down. I have to say we will definitely be back!
Was there a couple of days ago. It was my first time, had an excellent meal it was a little pricey but well worth it. It was truly DINNER AND A SHOW! I found only one thing rude and that was the chef asking the waitress in front of other customers if someone had tipped.
The best sushi in the area! I love it!
The only 2 problems are:
1. The service sucks... We will never dine in again! The waitress didnt get our drinks until 10 minutes after we were seated. Once we ordered, she forgot about our soup and salads and when asked 30 mintues later (she was out of sight until then) she placed the blame on another waitress. But since the food is so amazing, we still order carry out!
2. The kids portions are too small. My 3 year old ate chicken and french fries and was still hungry and eating off my plate.
Sake is one of my favorites, St. Louis might have some that are a little bigger and nicer, but I would rather have little smaller cozier place. Food is well presented at a good price. I'm glad we have it, I go about twice a month. Give it a try.
not as good as other sushi restaurants.
I tried this local japanese restaurant last Friday.
I read article about this restaurant and in that article one of owners proudly said that they use frozen fish......
well, I've been many many sushi bars all over place and please don't tell me that this is one of best sushi you had.
