Casablanca Bar & Grill
The College Heights Lemon Packing House (where Casablanca Bar & Grill is now located) is a long rectangular, two-story warehouse with a full basement built in stages from 1909 through 1946. Its function was to receive, process, store, then pack and ship the lemons grown by members of the College Heights Orange and Lemon Association who owned the building. Originally built of wood with a gable roof and attached sheds, it was enlarged and modified in 1922, 1931, 1934 and 1946, until it reached its present dimensions and appearance. The current building had (up until 2002, when the west wing was demolished) four distinct sections made of hollow clay tile, concrete, corrugated metal, and wood slats. It now has two sections, but it retains much of the same appearance it had at the height of citrus activity in this area (1920s-1950s) with some minor exterior and interior alterations. It still stands on the north side of the Santa Fe (now Metrolink) railroad tracks where the lemons were loaded into boxcars for shipment to Eastern markets.
Food: Mediocre. Service: Deplorable! My family and I will never return to this establishment. The food was served cold on dirty dishes, and the wait staff were completely ineffectvie. Once our meal was served we didn't see our server again for 45 minutes, at which time we were more than ready to leave. This place needs new management. However, I believe the damage has already been done.
Casablanca has the best Middle Eastern food in Southern California...It has great kabab.. all the appetizers are really GOOD....also it has a very nice atmosphere....waiters and waitresses are super friendly....
Sorry, but overall not that good, food was ok, service was HORRIBLE! I use to be a smoker, but the smell of the hooka does not go well with the food if you sit outside, went on a Friday and the was no dancers as advertiesed, and the food was way over price, almost $50 a head, which for the quality of food is, again, over priced. I would spend my money elsewhere, better arabic resturant off garvey (I think) in pomona, half the price and better quality food (and no I do not work for them) just my opinion.
I went to Casablanca because of all the good reviews it has. I will say it lives up to the reviews!! I love it, the service was great, the hummus was fresh and yummy, and the hookah was super. I will keep coming to this place when I am in town.
Amazing food and great place to visit with the family. Homos and lamb chops are sooooo wonderful and best garlic sauce I have ever had. thank you Casablanca will for sure go back and visit.
Wish you all the best and keep up the good work.
Food: just ok. My friend and I had falafel, lamb, pita (which could have been fresher) and hummus. Service was fine. We sat outside since it was a warm night. Overall, not bad, but nothing to rave about either.
