Food was fair to good, the servers were great, but the organization in this place needs an overhaul. We had made a reservation on Wednesday for my mother s birthday dinner the following Saturday at 8:00pm. My party sat down, looked at the menu, ordered drinks, apps, and our dinner all at the same time after being told that a larger table had been seated right before us and things may take a while longer, in order to save on time in things getting out. Ten to fifteen minutes later, we get the drinks on the table, but a margarita that had been ordered was served unflavored. Fast-forward another twenty minutes, and we finally get our appetizers(an order of guacamole, which was okay, and another of queso dip, which was pretty good). After we finish our apps, we are waiting around for another hour before asking where our entrees were. We were informed that the plates should be out momentarily. After another ten minutes pass, we ask for everything to go, as my parents and two out of the three other members of our party were rapidly growing tired, and it was getting toward 10pm. My father had asked to speak with the owner, and he hands us $60 in gift certificates for the next time. We hear nothing else after this, and we assume that the meal had also been comped, and all except two of us, who wanted dessert leaves. They later get presented with a bill for the full meal, after ruining my mother s birthday. Upon refusing to pay it were told by one of the waitresses that it would have gotten docked from our waitress pay should it go unpaid. I have never ever witnessed worse customer service in my life and will never return to this place. My suggestion to the management is to watch your table scheduling better and make sure the kitchen can handle the load that you re placing on them. Would recommend everybody shy away from this place.
Great Great place. I've never heard a negative about Amigos and any negative criticisms I've read here are way off base. This could easily be the best Mexican cuisine in the Capital district. The owners obviously pay attention to details, the service was excellent. The place is small and can be a bit loud but that's because everyone is enjoying themselves...and the best thing of all..there's not one TV in this place to detract from the dining experience
Amigos Cantina should have earned a four or five star based on the food, which is delicious, but the service is AWFUL. We've had the same waitress on each visit & she is terrifically bad. We've waited on drinks, appetizers, basic service, drink refills & the check on each visit. We come back each time because the food is wonderful. Hopefully, Amigos reads these reviews & takes notice of the issue.
Wonderful Sagria, great service from when you walk in the door.
Must try the Veggie Fajitas, Shrimp Enchiladas and Fish Tacos. Just looking for Dessert and coffee, try the key lime pie of Creme Brulee.
The food is good, but man what a loud place and very poor service! so if you plan to go here, you should set aside a good couple of hours and bring you ear plugs. We arrived at 6:05 and our meals arrived at 7:15!
Awesome...great margaritas....dinner was delicious...desserts out of this world. Ate with a table of six and everyone loved it! Special kudos to the fajitas and key lime pie. We thought the service was excellent. I would highly recommend
Muy humongous portions. 3 of 4 of us ordered chicken burritos. Muy Grande! BUT more than 1/3 of the way through them we hadn't encountered any chicken! $14 for what was mostly refried beans. 4th diner ordered and thoroughly enjoyed her overpriced quesadilla.
Attractive atmosphere, and they could get away with the high prices easier if they were in Saratoga.
