I never thought a burrito could be good, until I had one from Ponchintos! They are excellent! I don't think I need to elaborate any more. I would like to add the phone number listed is their fax number. The right number is 218-0294
Panchinto's is a no-frills kind of place. There's only seating for about 15 people inside, although there are benches outside. I wouldn't characterize the place as a 'dumpy', but it's nothing fancy, either. The food quality has been good on each of my visits. The burritos are huge and I've always found them to be very flavorful (I've tried both the steak and carnitas burritos). The chips are also tasty but you only get a small paper bag for 85 cents ($1.75 with homemade salsa).
However, I gave this eatery three stars instead of four not because of food quality - everything I've had there has been good - but because they now charge for seemingly every extra topping compared to previous visits. Six bucks for a nice big burrito is fine, but I ended up spending almost eleven dollars just to get sour cream and jalapenos on top (is it really necessary to charge extra for sour cream?), a bag of tortilla chips and salsa and a Pepsi. Mexican restaurants should never charge for basic toppings like sour cream or peppers, or tortilla chips either. If you don't mind spending money for these, though, the burritos are definitely worth a visit.
