I work uptown and eat lunch at KO Sushi 2-3 times a month at least, and have always enjoyed my meal. The taste, quality and freshness are top-notch and are as good, if not better, than the big sushi names in town. The nigiri pieces come with a generous cut of fish/seafood, with another generous amount of rice, and the rolls are plump. I always get excited knowing that I'm getting some awesome sushi for lunch from KO! Really good stuff!
I always order from KO's they have great sushi BUT they are sorry with the delivery time!!! I ordered my food at 11am w a 1pm delivery time and they still have not arrived at 115pm. This would be fine if they didn't allow you to place a time for drop off! They need to do better because I have this problem almost evey TIME!!!
Good food, great prices but VERY slow!
While the food is not bad, the delivery service is terrible. I've had positive experiences with the delivery service before, but recently I placed an order here and it took me 2.5 hours to receive it. I live about three blocks from the restaurant. I placed my order at 7:20 pm. The delivery man never called my phone number, which is listed on the top of my order confirmation slip. Instead, he left a message at my work number, which is listed under a different account. He also called my boyfriend's phone. My boyfriend told him that I would be downstairs to meet him at the door, considering my community requires a security pass to get inside. Instead, the delivery man entered the building (presumably let in by a neighbor) and proceeded to try to deliver my order to the wrong apartment number, as he later confessed. I waited downstairs for 20 minutes, only to call the store and find out that the delivery man had left to deliver other orders, but was assured he would return to my apartment as soon as possible. I called the store 45 minutes later, to find out that he had instead returned to the store, and should be headed to my apartment soon. At 9:45, he called my phone number for the first time. I thought that perhaps since my order was 2.5 hours late, the store might have replaced the sushi with a fresh order, but the order I received was not fresh at all, was weirdly warm from riding around for over two hours, and was completely squished against one side of the delivery box as a result of riding on the back of a scooter for over two hours. The sushi was not edible by the time it arrived. Although I called the store several times, I still had to pay the full price. The delivery guy also blamed me for not answering my work phone, despite the fact that the phone number he called was not on the account I ordered from. The sushi is definitely not worth the trouble to have it delivered.
I felt like I had to write a review because there wasn't any information out there to give this restaraunt credit.
I had delivery from KO tonight and it was suprisingly great. (I was a little hesitant because of the price point and I hadn't seen the place in person). consider myself a bit of a sushi snob; all the fish was very fresh and the rice was the perfect stickiness. The portions are huge! My husband and I got an order of edamame, a ginger salad (which was 2x the typical salad size, had an authentic dressing and tomatoes, rice puffs and fresh cucumbers & carrots) and 5 rolls; we couldn't finish it all! The hiro roll was my favorite. We always go to Nikko's on South Blvd, but this is a great way to order cheaper, delicious sushi. Definitely will call in again! So convenient! They provide cute little packets of wasabi (very hot) and ginger, and even the sauce bowls.
Your money goes a bit further at KO, their prices are very fair for what you get. The $3.50 rolls are fairly big in comparison to most places cheapie maki rolls. Their signature rolls are very colorful and filling. The fish has always been fresh and everything seems to be made to order (no premade items). I recommend this place, especially since you can order online....but if ordering online be sure to add 10 minutes to the approximate pick up time because they are usually very busy...at least between 8 and 9pm when i order.
