We wanted to try something different for dinner so we headed to the new Frankie Bones in Arden. We were casually dressed and upon entering I wished that I had worn a hip swanky dress and heels; more then anything.... just to assimilate into the surroundings and do a little role playing.
Swanky. Wizeguy-esque atmosphere complete with jazzy music and fun cocktails. Big leather booths and rich interior..... you can almost see Sinatra at the bar sipping on a Dirty Dean Martini.
We ordered way too much food but it gave us a chance to try different things. The Prince Edward Mussels were lick-the-bottom-of the-bowl good! We sopped up every last bit with the tasty fresh bread. The tomatoes were fresh and the sauce was delectable! The crab and artichoke dip was good...nothing new here, but good nonetheless. I had the Salmon Oscar which was rich in every sense of the word....and I loved every extra calorie that smothered the salmon! I probably would not order the dish again because it was so rich, but I have no regrets! DH ordered the Tuscan Filet and thought it was outstanding... he would order it again (and has).
Our six year old ordered the Rigatoni off the kids menu and the server brought him some meat-a-balls after a rather cute conversation they had about how he knew his pastas and was a meatball connoisseur of sorts!
Dessert blew our child away! We ordered Smores and he was delighted that it came with all the fixings and a hibachi for our table. We enjoyed making the Smores and had a lot fun with this.... although at this point it was hard to stuff anymore food in our bellies!
We have eaten here twice since our first trip and whenever our son gets the chance, he names it as the place he wants to go for dinner....every time. We love that it pleases everyone...the adult palates and the kid's! We have added salads and chicken dishes to our list of things we have had; all were delicious, meticulously prepared and worth every bite.
Their NY Cheesecake is unbelievably good! I would even suggest this place for dessert and coffee.... or martinis!
