Yes, it is just a bit on the spendy side, but worth it! The food is outstanding (if you like spicy, be sure to try an armadillo egg), the service is excellent, and the people could not be nicer.
I go at least 2-3 times a month, and I have never had a bad meal there.
We love this place! We go there every other Sunday for breakfast, and it is NEVER empty, as previous reviewers have stated. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, and the food has always been excellent! Thick cut bacon, yummy pancakes, and biscuits as big as a dessert plate! The service is always good, even when they are obviously harried and busy - usually the manager (owner?) makes it over to our table to ask how our experience has been as well. We always try to support local business, and this is one time when it has been a pleasure!
I really really wanted to like this place. I saw the owners on HGTV's Property Virgins and really liked them. So my Family and I went to try it out and..yuck the food was awful and way way over priced :( I ordered a Portabello Mushroom salad that sounded good on the menu but it was terrible and over priced. I could have made a better salad at home for 1/8 of the price. It was a cooked portabello mushroom with melted cheese ontop of a cold salad!?!? Who does that? How can they possibly think a hot cooked (anything) would be good ontop of a cold crisp salad? Do they even try their own food? And my son ordered some enchiladas that were so spicey hot he couldn't eat them, so they had to bring him another place without the spice and it tasted like a tv dinner. My daughter in law didn't like here meal either. We spent over $40 and were still hungry. We will never go back:(
This place is great! Great food, great drinks... we love to go hang out and even went on Valentines day. It reminds us of a place you would find in Galveston, to honest. Manny and his crew are the best! Will continue to give Manny my business over the chain places any day.
Great place with good food and friendly people. Pancakes have a great flavor and the bacon is my favorate and if you want lunch or dinner you really need to try their home made chips. Ggreat outside seating
Too bad I could not give it LESS THAN ONE STAR! My wife and I were there on SAT. nite. We sat in the bar for a while. (excellent service there) My wife then decided we should eat on the patio. There was a LOCAL SOUTHLAKE DIVA WANNABE, that of course spends a lot of money with them. Manny's wife and the other wait staff TOTALLY IGNORED us as well as the other patrons. I mean if like CHRIS/CHRIS people to come to your establishment and alienate the other clientele, fine, but if you do not want to lose regulars that are much less HIGH MAINTENANCE, then put the CHRIS/CHRIS people in a private room. We will not be going there for dinner ever again. Food was overpriced and only ok. Also, it was our anniversary. We did not jump up and advertise it like the fake boob old lady that sells herbs and self help products. LOOK AT ME,,,I am an old ex-high school cheerleader with fake boobs. you must wait on me. I was very disappointed in the way that manny g's wife and COOK... gushed over her and ignored us. i go there about2 times a week to have drinks and live just down the road.
One star was more than I would like to give! We went on nice Friday night. Our first red flag should have been that we were the only diners. Ordered margarita. Tasteless. Ordered two burgers, one with mushrooms. Got two burgers--but NO muchrooms. Remember...we were the only diners! Total bill was $30 and we only had the one margaritga! Second red flag should have been stained & crumpled computer printoff menu. At least they could print new ones daily! BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. We wanted to like and support this local eatery.
We love it! Both my wife and I love going to Manny G's. The people are friendly, the staff is attentive, the food is great, the drinks are excellent and the atmosphere is casual. We especially like to meet our friend there for cocktails and dinner on the patio after work. ENJOY IT !
Final straw. We have tried to give this place a chance time and time again because they are a local joint. However, after our 6th visit, we won't be going back, EVER. Service was horrible and laughable, they would hardly accommodate adding grilled chicken to our salads, wait time was absurd and the bill ($25) a person was questionable. We will keep our patronage at other local joints that know what the heck they are doing....Up N Smoke.
