THE FIREBOX GREAT ,GREAT ,GREAT.THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS HIP THE FOOD IS SO REFRESHING AND THE STAFF IS WELCOMING. WE NEED MORE OF THESE PLACES HARTFORD..

We went to the opening evening of their new outside grill. The choices were limited but what we ordered was tasty. We ordered from the regular menu and from the grilling menu. We had to ask for water, bread, pepper. The wait staff should know how to serve. What was disturbing was the chef doing the grilling. When he was not busy he was sitting down taking on his cell phone. When preparing a dish used his hands to scoop up the salad to plate. Not appetizing at all.

Two recent visits- lunch and dinner were not up to previous levels of food prep. Not sure what's happening. Definitely my entusiasm has been decreased.

Totally overrated, was there last night we had appetizers and drinks, the Ultimate Margarita had a gingerlime after taste,must have been the lime juice, it was not good at all. The KFCB Chicken was burnt, we could have had the real KFC Bucket for the 3 piece burnt tasteless chicken. Also we ordered the fried calamari and we got one huge tasteless stuffed calamari, we called a calamari glob! Other than that, service was polite, excellentambience

Been here a few times. I think the duck is a must try, it's some of the best around. The restaurant is very trendy, and is located right off the highway and has an adjacent parking lot. It often gets quite crowded on the weekends. It also has a great bar which is good for meet ups after work or a Bushnell show. The Billings Forge Studio next door sometimes has goings on which is fun to stop in before/after dinner.

Overrated. Been there 3 times. Were up-sold by snotty waitress on expensive drinks that were not very good, "awesome" local tomatoes that were sub par & small portion to boot - were told it was big enough to share. Fish was over salted almost inedible. Companion did enjoy scallops - big deal, can sear them at home as well. Another time had the local lamb and it was very chewy. Very disappointed -wanted to be able to recommend but cannot.

Major disappointment. It began with a 50 minute wait for our table, even though we had a reservation. First excuse: "parents weekend." Second excuse: "lots of lingerers at the tables." Both of those situations could have been handled by good management. The food was excellent. The wait staff was attentive, but the gaps between courses were way too long. The wine list is overpriced. All in all, New York prices with terrible service.

Very pleasing setting, friendly welcome courteous and prompt service. Corn soup and Calamari appetizer cooked just right preserving texture an full of taste. Scallop and sea bass main entres cooked perfectly and very successful mushroom, veg & corn sides. Creme brullee and chocolate dessert very pleasing. Eclectic and fairly priced wine list: had very good Argentinian Viognier for under $30. Highly recomended, congratulations to owners!

Extremely impressive - don't let the location put you off. Locally sourced food, with a menu that changes with the seasons and beautiful decor define this restaurant. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, the service was attentive without being overwhelming, and the ambiance, while a little loud, was inviting and lovely. P.S. - the spicy margarita may be the best drink I've ever had.

The noise is the one overwhelming attribute of Firebox that you can't miss. Don't let the noise or the location put you off. The food is fresh, local and quite good and the service is amazingly good even when the place is packed. Just be prepared to spend the evening yelling at your dining companions. Fiddlehead ferns in season are a real treat.
