We love this place, it s kind of small, but the quality of the food, excellent service and the Margarita s are wonderful. The prices are fair also, we have 2 larger chain Mexican closer to us, but we always choose here. We live in Northville and are so happy we don t have to drive to downtown Detroit, for some great Mexican food. Ole
Wow,I heard about this place and so I checked reviews and gave it a try. The only thing that was good was the service and the salsa.Food was buried under a pile leaving tacos soggy. The rice was nasty and the guac tasted like those ones ready made from store. Also had flautas and they were not crispy and we asked if they were before ordering. If this is authentic Mexican,I will stick to Camelias or El Nibble Nook.Oh yes,I am latino and know what I'm talking about.Who cares about the price if the food is bad.I would rather pay 20.00 and not have a bad taste left in my mouth.
I went to El Patio the other night and was soo amazed by everything. The service was amazing! The food was even better everything that we had tried was so delicious. The food was so fresh especially the salsa homemade! The chile Rellenos was probably the best and I can't wait to go back to try some more items. The menu has so much to choose from you can't go wrong I definately recommend this best authentic Mexican I have had in a very very long time! 2 thumbs up!!
Fresh food, CLEAN restaurant, GREAT service, will return to the Farmington Hills location. Wife has allergies to many things, and she ate the salsa (no vinegar, just fresh tomatoes, peppers, cilantro and onion) and I too enjoyed it. Don't eat too many chips and Salsa though, because the main courses are good, not greasy and fresh.
This was my first visit here and would recommend it to anyone as a very good authentic Mexican restaurant. Granted it was a Tuesday, our group of five men were seated promptly with drinks, chips and salsa. Chips were hot and salsa homemade. Guacomole was also fresh. We each ordered something we never had before and were very pleased. I had a spicy(not hot spicy) chicken. It came with a chile rellenos that was amazing. Go give it a try, you won't be disappointed. My only regret was that I was looking forward to a Dos Equis Beer, but they did not serve beer. My ice tea was always refilled by the server. We asked to have the check separated so we could each pay individually, and they easily accomodated us.
I love this Mexican restaurant, too. The salsa is some of the best I've ever had. They have huevos rancheros, which I love! (And which isn't easy to find.) Everything on the menu is really good. Fast, attentive service and authentic, tasty food is only topped by the great prices. Highly recommend!
This is one Mexican eatery where Eating in is the best. My wife and I discovered this place just about a year ago this May. They had just opened around that time and we always loved Mexican food. The service is friendly and I've never had an empty glass. Without paying attention the waiter would fill my glass 4 or 5 times. The chips are some of the best, sometimes we often buy a big bag of their chips & salsa just to take home. What really shines is the food. Its fresh, all handcrafted and only once did I have something that tasted weird. They have some of the best prices on combo plates and you get a lot for the price. A 3 item combo with Rice and Beans is just about $9. Everything is made fresh. Some of the items look different than you think they would be, but thats because they cook authentic style Mexican, not some southwest or Tex Mex Taco Bell ripoff. My wife and I try to taste something different every time. I am not a big guacamole fan, but they have very mild and tasty home made guac that isn't heavy like some other eateries. Only once did I have an order screwed up, and that was Carry out. Its always best at busy Lunch rush to check your food before you get home. But they were nice and they fixed the mistake for me and even compensated me with a free bag of chips and salsa! Even better is at some local grocery stores like the Farmington Hills Kroger you can get coupons for 1/2 off an order with purchase of regular order. I know El Patio has some other locations, but the one in Farmington Hills at Grand River / Haggerty is so easy to get to for Lunch or Dinner, Eat in or carry-out.
