Savour Restaurant, Charlottesville

I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with the positive reviews for this restaurant. The waitress was very nice, the man who filled our water glasses was very attentive, but other than that (and the excellent company of my friends) this was an abysmal dining experience. I feel nauseous just thinking about it. With so many great restaurants in Charlottesville, I will never return to Savour. The food, although presented well, ranged from bland to bad. The wine was fine, but not exciting and extremely overpriced. The food was also much more expensive than it should have been.

This was absolutely the worst meal I've ever had in Charlottesville - and ironically one of the most expensive!). Though the biggest irony is this place's name b/c the food is completely bland and flavorless. Basically it is reminiscent of the kind of tasteless food you would find at a banquet hall wedding. I had the fish and it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. My friend had the veal and the sauce tasted like it had been made with Campbell's condensed soup. Another friend had the pork which was equally boring. The appetizers ranged from boring (tomato sushi) to gross (calamari). The desserts were the only good part of the meal - but then again it 's hard to ruin chocolate mousse. In addition the waitstaff (and the manager!) were clueless about the wines - when we asked where one of the wines was from the manager siad he couldn't remember! We eached ended up paying $55 for food and wine and all agreed it was horrible. STAY AWAY.

Not only one of my best dining experiences in Charlottesville, but in my life. Excellent presentation, excellent price, and excellent food. Go. Go now.

The Savour brings Charlottesville dining to a new standard of excellence. I challenged the chefs to create a custom-designed vegetarian meal, and was treated to a subtle symphony of flavors and textures in perfect harmony, this musical metaphor an accurate rendition of both the food and of the sophisticated, pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor, with white tablecloths and quiet elegance, reminds me of the some of the finer establishments in Europe. The desserts are amazing.

Absolutely the Best restaurant I have ever been in - in Cville! I am originally from NY and have been to the top restaurants - 21club, Rainbow Room, Sardi's and so many more... It is so nice to find a place comparable to those right here in Charlottesville. Refreshing, delicious and comfortable - really delectable food and really comfortable chairs and atmosphere. Try the Scallops!!! ***** 5 stars without a doubt *****!!!!! Ludwig's waitress moved here - Great service too! WELL DONE SAVOUR!!!!
