Great concept! Good food! Nice pastries and cakes! Enjoy myself every time. The first European pastry in Inland Vally.

Their pastries were decent until today. Nothing in my order was fresh. The muffin was dry and flaky. The mango cream pie was obviously spoiled. Even though it still looks good, once the wrap was removed, the smell was rancid. After one bite, had to throw everything in the trash. Oh god, the gross after-taste of the foul dessert is still lingering in my throat even though it was just one small bite. I am not trying to sabotage their business. It's great to have a bakery in our Upland area. At the same token, this is reality and the people deserve to know about it. Hopefully, they will have a chance to read of my experience and improve the quality of their pastries.

great pastries. great coffee. But, their other food options needs some work. Taste is a bit bland. Salads are nicely prepared but expensive, and the entrees are very carbohydrate heavy. would like to see whole wheat pasta options and sauces that include olive oil, fresh tomato and basil, as well as balsamic grilled chicken and/or turkey breast. Instead it's a lot of cream sauces that are heavy and don't leave you feeling good in the end. Baked Ziti is not my idea of a bistro supper! and my biggest annoyance: PAPER/PLASTIC plates. Very wasteful and not environmentally friendly. Use real utensils. It's just better for the environment. And the trash can openings are not big enough to fit your trash in...it's annoying. Great concept though. For cakes and pastry orders it's very hard to beat in this area....it's the meal options that need some serious re-thinking. adam

Not impressed - just OK. The food is acceptable - I suppose, but not fantastic. Pasteries likewise, not that great.

HORRIBLE MANAGER AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS! My boyfriend first introduced me to the pastries and after trying their tiramisu cake I became a regular customer. A couple weeks ago, we were told during a dinner service by our waiter that they were having a party where we get to sample appetizers, desserts, and wine for FREE. We were thrilled they were having such a great promotion, but when I arrived today to the “Free” sampling event to find out that I had to pay $8-$10 I felt like an idiot. I drove 13 miles to the event to find out that I was tricked into some stupid marketing scam! Furious, I spoke with the Chinese manager in mandarin and he had the nerve to push my complaints onto a waitress who told me that they had always made people buy tickets to the event. I told her that our waiter that day had specifically told me to bring friends and family to a FREE event but nobody did anything to assist me. I was just told that the event was free for the members of the chamber of commerce but since our waiter didn’t mention ANYTHING about that I feel that they should have at least let us in anyway. Well, truth be told besides their pastries everything else was disgusting. Don’t bother trying their dinner menu, everything tasted bland as hell and after reading a review about their spoiled pastries I don’t think I will ever go back. Tricking people into coming to their event was just distasteful and using this type of false advertisement is pathetic.

We were very surprised and impressed by the size and the food of this new restaurant. Good selection of cakes and pastries. First class of Italian food served in a Cafe's price. Good value. We are going back to try their breakfast next week.

Dolce Restaurant & Bakery – What a Find! Some days, luck is just plain with you! Husband and I discovered one of the best food values I have ever seen – right here in Montclair, California! Dolce Restaurant and Bakery is just that – a bakery with a restaurant attached. We first stopped by this Sunday morning for breakfast… and then we saw the dinner menu! Needless to say, I got out of cooking for the night. They have a HUGE variety of mouthwatering entrees. From Bistecca alla Portal (Sirloin smothered in a red wine reduction topped with tomato mango chutney - $15.95) to Sole Crème L’Orange (sole in an orange tarragon cream sauce - $12.95). From Apple Glazed Pork Chops (center cut pork chop with an apple shallot butter glaze - $10.95) to Chicken L’America (Grilled chicken breast topped with a fresh fruit and avocado chutney - $9.95). Great continental food at reasonable prices. Currently (in January 2010) they are running a 2 for $25.00 special. Choice of one appetizer (I recommend the crabcakes), two full-sized entrees (the sole and the pork chops are choices) and a one dessert to share. The ambiance of the restaurant is okay. It’s large and clean – reminds me of a nice internet café/coffee house. Our waiter Nicki was super. Not a helicopter waiter – didn’t hover, but seemed to know when to show up and was knowledgeable about the food. Great personality and a pleasing manner. This is the first time we’ve been there and we’ll certainly be back. I would recommend this to just about everyone – even the vegetarians sitting behind us seemed pleased. There are 26 different dinner items on the menu – including pastas. A real find for our neighborhood!

They have the best dessert I have ever had :) and although their desserts seem pricey they are worth it. Their sandwiches are good too. It's a big cute cafe...great for dates!
