I just went Dos Compadres II and Dos Compadres I here in Washougal. First there to go menu doesn’t specify which location is which by referencing the location such as across from Washougal foods or LaCamas Community Credit Union. So end up place my order at the wrong location. I live two min.’s from one and 10 from the other. So when I went to my local one to pick it up the woman working there said she had no to go order. She picked up the phone and said it was at the other location. When I asked her if I could get my order here instead of drive over there. Her reply was no. To which I responded I would never cross their threshold again. Speaking of which it was an adventure and has been for more than six months as the restaurant entrance is under construction. I would have never order the food we did if I was driving across town to get food. As for the food it was stone cold of course. Both my mom and I had food that needed to be fried and the oil was old and burnt you could taste it. My mom’s taquito’s were soggy because they were in foil container with no vent for steam. My nachos were disgusting as they were made with canned refried beans, and I would swear it was canned stewed beef. Let’s not forget there weren’t enough chips to cover the bottom of the foil container. What chips there were burnt and of course it was cold and soggier than normal. We both had guacamole that was premade and not fresh. I don’t know who they think there kidding but it isn’t us. We have eaten authentic Mexican food and the new fast food joint does a better job of making Mexican Food than this place. So Drive thru Don Juan Pedro’s and get better food at a cheaper price. Sad thing is we have been loyal customer for 8 years but this was the last straw for this restaurant. The quality of food has been declining for years too bad we use to enjoy it. I would also like to know how a burrito goes up three dollars from lunch to dinner when it has the same things on it.
My husband and I were looking for a good Mexican restaurant and his friend from work told him about this one. Big mistake! We ordered from the lunch menu and both got the same thing a chile relleno and taco combination. It was the worst tasting thing we ever had. The chile relleno tasted like rubber. When I was eating it I almost choked on it. We couldn't even tell what it was. No flavor and hard as a rock. I wanted to complain to the waiter but my husband didn't want to.
We will never go back again. Very disappointing
I LOVE Mexican food! Unfortunately, there wasn't much to pick from here in Washougal in the past...Taco Bell (gross)...Gringos something or another (gross)....then came Los Dos.
At first I was like...this isn't bad, but it wasn't all that great either. I have checked back from time to time and in the recent months, Los Dos has fined tuned their menu and I have been quite happy with the food I have ordered. The salsa is still a little inconsistent, but it is adventurous to see just how hot it is going to be that particular day.
I used to drive to Chevys or Azteca in Vancouver for Mexican Food...now I stay in Washougal....no need to go to Vancouver when Los Dos is here in Washougal. Certainly worth a try to anyone visiting here in Washougal...great food...great price...friendly staff...the Chimichangas are my FAVORITE! : )
