My wife and I waited 15 minutes to be seated at a time when the restaurant was mostly empty. The four young ladies at the podium seemed to be confused at where they were going to seat us. After finally being seated we noticed how warm it was in the area we were seated and decided we would leave. The server was kind and did offer another table but I declined; I already had a bad taste in my mouth from having to wait to be seated in a mostly empty restaurant. While my wife and I were walking to the door the manager asked why we were leaving...he did not empress me in the least; and to my surpise he became confrontational when I tried to explain the reasons for us not staying. There are too many other excellent restaurants in the area to enjoy a meal and good time, unfortunately I recommend not wasting your time visiting this restaurant.

Even though my husband ordered a steak, when our waitress learned that I was only ordering a salad and an appetizer, she was visably annoyed and the service went downhill after that. My husband's expensive ground steak came out burned with cheese covering the burned top... like he wouldn't know! We saw our waitress tell the manager, but were never offered so much as an apology.

We had dinner at Johnnie's for our anniversary and it was perfect. This restaurant is the whole package. The servers are professional while being very attentive. Our server Jose was absolutely wonderful. The decor is lovely. The food is simply the best seafood and steaks, period. The manager Thomas went completely out of his way to make our dinner special and it was so appreciated! Would highly recommend!

Great food and servers...My husband and I were enjoying our meal when a woman we assumed was a manager started to draw attention to our table. She along with kitchen and other floor staff began to look and point in our direction. We later realized that we’re sitting in a section for large parties. We respect that the area is reserved for groups but we didn't sit ourselves there nor did anyone inform the waitperson that we shouldn't be sitting there. We understand that a mistake was made but as professionals they should have handled the situation behind the scenes and not made the issue obvious to us. When we were walking out of the restaurant (after spending a nice sum of money) the manager rolled her eyes and walked away in a hurry; everyone else ignored us without any attempt at an apology. We were in Orlando on vacation and enjoying a wonderful time until we ventured into this negative environment. I would recommend Johnnie's Hideaway for the food and the pleasantness of some of the servers but the management and hostess staff leaves something to be desired.

A chance at excellence wasted. What a great decor. Walking in the door was thrilled at the coziness of the place. Was completely ignored by the hostesses who seemed frazzled. Got seated 45 minutes AFTER the reservation time. Waited 10 minutes for the server to show and get beverages. Another 10 before and appetizer order, then having learned our lesson did not let him get away without taking the main course order. We were seated at 9:20 and finally got the check at 11:30. The filet was OK, but not up to Ruth Chris or Eddie Merlot standards. Medium well was Medium rare. Medium Rare was Medium rare, and Medium was Medium Rare. (Maybe they only have one setting on the grill) Redskin Potatoes were very good, stuffed oysters were greasy, greasy. Had to ask for drink refills which took up to five minutes to get. Desserts were well done and generous. When we left, the Valet acted like he could care less if we lived on the same planet. I will let you make your own decision as to the whether a price tag of $185.00 for dinner for three with no alcoholic beverages was worth it.
