Food is freshly made, very, very good. The salsa is homemade so sometimes it s spicier than other days. Have yet to get a meal there that wasn t perfect! Friendly staff. It s busy during lunch and dinner times. Worth the little bit of a wait if it s crowded. Very reasonable prices. Lunchtime combos are quite filling. They don t skimp on the food.
Awesome mexican food. I've been to Mexico a lot and this place truly knows mexican food. No tex-mex here. I love the white cheese they have. They now have another location in Westlake right off the interstate. I've eaten there and it's just as good.
This is my favorite resturant!! Everyone makes you feel right at home. If you go when its not busy, its very laid back. And there maragritas are SO....much better than Casa's! Monday and Tuesday are 2 for 1 and they arent the small ones either. They come in a big mug. I have eaten almost everything on the menu and love everything i have had so far. I went to Casa Manana recently and they confirmed why i haven''t eaten there in 2 years. Its just nasty! I highly recommend going to El Tapitas. Yes, it might be a little crowded but i love the atmosphere!
I do not agree with these reviews. At busy times the resturant is extremly loud and way overcrowded. They crowd too many tales in a very small resturant and don't have enough servers to supply the number of guests when at capacity. The food is close to authentic mexican but needs some work. The salsa is terrable, our service was terrable and I will not return.
El Tapatio is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Lake Area. I find their prices to be extremely fair and their food is definitely the best in Lake Charles. My service, in the approximately 20 times that I have dined there, has always been friendly and prompt. Portions are always too much - I have never 'cleaned my plate'. There are, however, two slight shortcommings which prevent them from earning my fifth star. The first would be that the restaurant is often smoke-filled, and the second issue is that the dining area is tight. If you enjoy authentic Mexican food, then this is your restaurant. El Tapatio has replaced my old favorite - Cancun. I have yet to go there again.
I eat there quite often for lunch and have never had any problems. Yes there are hispanic and the food is very authentic. As for the kitchen being dirty, I have never found it to be worse than any other in town. I delivered to restautrants for a number of years and they are just like everyone else. The food is delicious and I think I will go there today for lunch.
This place had the most disgusting kitchen i have ever seen. I had to drop of some orders there and i would not reccomend this to my worst enemy. If that is real mexican i will take the other choices any day
