BBQ House, Reno

Oakland Style??? Keep it in Oakland. This place really sucks. Sauce is way too thick and sweet, ribs have no flavor and too fatty. I ate here when they first open and haven't been back since. BJ's is still the best in town, 2nd place is Dickies, and 3rd would be Saucys at the Peppermill. Trust me, I know food (huge stomach, looks like I'm 8 months pregnant).

This place is really good! Most likely the best Bar B Q in northern Nevada......Do not mistake it however for the place of similiar name further down on Wells Ave. in Sparks. The sauce may taste the same but thats about the only thing it really seems to have in common. The Sparks unit is very poorly operated, by management more interested in their likes than feedback from their customers.

I don`t know what the HELL, happen to this place. I work at the hospital graveyard shift, and stop in about 10:00 P.M. and recived the worst BBQ rib dinner that i have ever eatten. The ribs were so dry and hard with a bunch of sauce on them, don`t think I will be eatting there anytime soon or recommend anyone else to eat there either. The BBQ house need to get their stuff together.

Sorry, mediocre BBQ. The whole idea of long and low smoking is to melt out the fat in ribs. These ribs are WAY too fatty. As is the pulled pork and tri-tip. Same as most of the other BBQ places in town. BJ's and Kinder's are the only exceptions and Kinder's is too pricey.

Sorry! This place leaves me feeling short. That may be because I'm not a fan of ribs that are so covered in sauce that you can't taste the ribs. The price is quite high for the ribs and the service you get. There are other places in Reno/Sparks that are superior to this place.

I guess it's like they say different strokes for different folks... I have lived in the Oakland area for 47 years and this is great BBQ. I have had the chance to travel this county and i have eaten BBQ at some of the famous BBQ joints all over. This is BBQ in the old Oakland Flint's style. Can't argue with the review on the sides other than they are average to above for different items. Don't let the negative reviews fool you, this is some good BBQ in a place i did not expect it. Worth making a 2.5 hour drive up from the bay for. Ribs tender but stay on the bones won't fall in your lap when you pick them up... Homemade style links...brisket was very tender and very well seasoned... Chicken was firm and not fatty and squishy. Yeah check this place out. I think they will be a Reno institution from here on out... Yeah i'm going back. I have a reason to go to Reno now...

Excellent !!! Good food and good value for money. The staff are friendly. Great atmosphere. Was very happy to find out that they now also deliver! :-)

I don't know how Oakland-style differs from Memphis-style or any other style but I love good BBQ and this is the place! My husband and I noticed it in passing and decided to stop by for lunch. You could go by the yellow house if it wasn't for the sign out front but this place is worth looking for. There was a small line when we went in but you get taken care of pretty quickly. I had the ribs and wimped out with the mild sauce and my husband had the brisket with their spicier sauce. The sauces are wonderful and the side dishes were tasty as well. We'll be making this a regular stop.
