Bocktown Beer and Grill
Bocktown is rightfully the beer haven that one would love to go to. It has a beer library with over 400 selections, as well as tap beer. The concept of the place took off from the discomfort of traveling from one place to another for drinks, food and socializing. To cut that out, the owners came up with the concept of providing quality beer and homemade food for the people at one single joint. Wednesday nights are not to be missed as they are beer tasting nights.
Beer selection is great. Food is above average. I am in love with their salads and house dressing (tomato pepper vin.). Sandwiches are usually good, if a little greasy. Their biggest downfall is that their dinner prices are outrageous!! The cheapest dinner on their menu was cheese ravioli for $13.00! And most dinners are upwards of $17.00. They do make some unique combinations, but sometimes the meat/seafood is not as good as I would expect for the price.
Another mediocre bar food restaurant trying to make a name for themselves by have a large selection of beers, and average food choices..... This place wasn't good, but wasn't bad either. The menu had potential, but the food we got didn't live up to the hype. The hot sausage meatball sandwich was good, but confusing. The sausage wasn't spicy enough, so my brain kept thinking I was eating a meatball sub....but no. The sausage shaped in the form of balls wasn't a good idea. The other sandwich consumed was the italian stack....which wasn't bad, but needed more kick. It also was strange because the bread took away from the meat, and didn't allow you to experience the full flavor. Their selection of beers was good, but I wouldn't say vast. I've seen better selections at Sharp Edge creekhouse, and Bottleshop Cafe. I did see a steak salad that looked unreal, but it was after I already ordered. The huge complaint I had was there was NO beer prices ANYWHERE! How can you have a bar/rest. without prices being shown. It was terrible. You had no idea if what you were ordering was 16 dollars, or 6. And......they charged for samples of beer! Whoever heard of that??? No self respecting pub would ever charge someone to taste a beer that's probably going to cost them 5.50 or more. OUTRAGEOUS. Be careful if you go here.......
