Although the food was okay and the prices were not that bad the service was the absolute worst! Took forever for someone to even take our order and after they did they never even came back to the table except to bring the check and even that took a long time...I ll continue to go to Aodaku down the street where I always get great food and service.
I hate doing this, the sushi is good and the prices aren't bad either, but the service was bad. The waiter was so incredibly rude that no matter the price of the sushi, it just isn't worth it. I used to come here all the time, not anymore after the last few incidents I have had.
The waiter was rude when I would not purchase his suggestions, and the last time I went the waiter after we were about to leave stopped us and told us we did not tip him enough, that for his service we should have left at least a 25% tip at the lowest. WTH?
Anyways the service was slow, we had to wait almost an hour for our rolls and our drinks were never refilled though we asked twice and our bill was overcharged. Never coming back here, rather go to Edo Japan in Crest Hill or Aodaku just down the road.
SUSHI TRAIN OVERCHARED MY DINNER CHARGE. I paid for my dinner of twenty dollars with my credit card and got charged on my statement at the end of the month thirty dollars. Luckily I kept my receipt and when I went back to the restaurant (after calling my credit card company about the discrepancy first) to get my ten dollars back the host disgustingly looked at me, ripped the receipt off my bank statement and slammed it on the counter in front of me and said, “you’re not happy with our service!” DON’T LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU TOO, AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.
Terrible customer service and I will make sure to let anyone I know who likes sushi to AVOID this restaurant.
Best Sushi around for sure! We eat there every Wednesday and the food is incredible and service is OUTSTANDING! Everyone we have ever taken there loves it! They also have a delicious beef teriaki plate...yummm
Our entire family frequently visits the Sushi Train. Yes, at times it may be a little crouded but the food is outstanding. You can't find a better Sushi Restaurant in the Romeoville area. The California Rolls are the best! Try the restaurant you will not be dissapointed.
I went there on sunday for the rotating sushi bar. The food was great but the service not so much. The manager was waiting on me and my friend and was hovering over us while we ate. I tipped about 20% and as we were leaving the manager grabs my arm and blocks me and my friend from exiting. He asks was the service not good, why didn't I tip him? And I look over at where we sat and there is my ten dollar bill at the counter where we sat.
I said its right over there and he said that is only for the sushi chefs and demanded I hand him more money, so I went and took my tip money back and asked to speak to the manager, which he was.
I will never be back to this establishment, I cannot believe he grabbed my arm, stopped me from exiting, and loudly said I didn't tip him in front of the other customers.
