Mikey's on the Bayou, Ocean Springs

Visited w/ my father on March 3rd from a recommendation at the casino we were staying at. We really enjoyed the place. Only had the oysters on the half shell but boy they were good! Cold beer and met some friends at the same time. Best oysters I ve had in a while. Can t wait to get back there!

Looked forward to dining here after high recommendation by staff member at our hotel. Perhaps that was partly what lead to my overall disappointment - I was expecting too much. Unfortunately, first impressions upon locating and entering proved to be good indicators. I ordered the seafood combination platter and the portions of shrimp, oysters, catfish and crab cake were fairly generous, but most were already tending toward room temp - including even the baked potato. Server was very friendly, but I have a feeling she may have been at least partly responsible for the food arriving at our table less than hot. Perhaps we simply caught at a bad time, but based on our experience I would be very hesitant to recommend.

Was in town visiting our son at Keesler AFB, looking for some excellent seafood and found it HERE! Oysters on the half shell were the plumpest, freshest we've ever had! I even found a pearl in one of mine~BONUS! Then we shared the seafood platter. It was fried which we don't usually eat, but this was outstanding! NO grease whatsoever! Lightly pan fried, not a heavy breading and all of it was so fresh!! We lived in FL for close to 30 yrs and ate ALOT of seafood, but this was absolutely some of the best!! We went back the next day for another doz. oysters and they were still outstanding!. We ran out of time to return for more or we'd be saying more! Next visit......HOWEVER.....the service we received by Katie was exceptional and made the whole experience even that much better! Thank you, we'll be back when we return to MS. It's the places that aren't highly over rated that are the best! Oh....and the oysters were only $8 a dozen!! cheapest in town!

I have been to Mikeys on the Bayou in Ocean Springs multiple times.The food is horrible.the gumbo along with many other dishes are disgusting.I have received shrimp fried or boiled that has been undercooked as well as the crawfish.The "gator bites" are not gator bites.They look like hushpuppies and taste like them.None of our food has ever come out at the same time,not that they give you a big enough portion anyways for the prices their charging.$11 for 2small crabcakes,serioulsy?Ive overheard the servers and cooks always cursing in the back so loud my kids could hear it.They are some rude people there that shouldnt be in the buisness.Its ridiculous.That place needs to give up,Ive heard so many bad remarks about them,Im glad I quit going.

We have been to Mikey's on the Bayou twice and are so happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Its off the beaten path in Ocean Springs but truly has some of the best food at the best prices on the whole Coast. Its very casual but its absolutely AMAZING and The Staff is AWESOME! We've had a pretty good assortment of the items offered on the menu (appetizers, soups (you simply MUST have the Crawfish Mikey!!!!..nothing better anywhere I've ever been!), salads, entrees....and were not disappointed in even one dish. Their seafood bread is also a MUST when you go there. Be hungry when you go, because the portions are ample. LOVE this restaurant and 5 stars just doesn't do it justice in my mind. Keep up the AWESOME work!

just went there with my husband and our son- not only was the food awesome, we happened to come across an awesome person (who was also just a customer here) who took care of our meal. i've never left a restaurant happier. i come here for take out for lunch often, and i'll definitely be back. we split a seafood platter, an appetizer of seafood bread (HAVE THIS!), and each of us had a little salad. it was all good. we are still completely full, 45 minutes later, and have a to-go box in the fridge that will be enough for at least another meal and a half :)

OMG This restaurant was delicious! It reminded me of the old Bucktown area of New Orleans. It brought back memories of the type of food Brunings and Fitzgerald's used to serve. We had an ultimate seafood platter and it was unbelievably fantastic. They serve the fries or potato on a separate plate......not a plate of fries with dribbles of seafood on top. We ate from our doggie bag for 2 days. The service was great. They explained the menu for specials and recommendations and were so friendly they made you feel like they knew you forever. Please do yourself a favor and GO THERE!!!!

We visited Mikey's while visiting Biloxi. A dealer at one of the casinos suggested it. The food was great. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was casual. But...the best thing I had the whole time in Mississippi was Mikey's Crawfish. I don't know if you consider it a bisque or what but it was beyond excellent. Next visit we'll be back.

I found this place by accident taking the back roads from Gulf Shores back over to New Orleans. This place is magnificent. Totally the best!!!

Great place to eat and have a drink, great food, great service! Love it.
