Don's Dogs Cafe is a wonderful place to stop by for some great hot dogs and friendly service. It's run by people who really care about weather their customers are satisfied. it is a wonderful place to go and for anyone who has a grudge they should try it again and find out how great a place it really is!
Don's Dogs is the best food around the river. The lady who said her food was bad was served by the girl who is NO LONGER WORKING THERE!!! Dont' listen to her try it for yourself, they have great casper dogs and if u like spicy hot dogs they have 2 that are the best!!!
Don's Dogs are also served at the adjacent RIO THEATER. Our favorites are Suzies Special Dinners: a dog with sauerkraut, small popcorn, and soft drink -- all served in a basket convenient for dinner theatre or eating out on one of the decks. A great family place heavily favored by locals.
My husband and I decided to try the hot dogs, one afternoon on the way home. We ordered a hot dog and a polish dog to go. The buns were fine, the condiments were fine, but both dogs were cold. We went across to the beach parking lot to look at the river, and my Husband was so mad. These are not cheap, and cold is awful for a hot dog. Then about two weeks later we were going to garage sales and I told him lets try a breakfast sandwhich, and he said no. But, I said well, maybe that was just a bad day, and this will be better. He ordered two bacon and egg sandwhich's on an english muffin. We wanted sausage but they were out. He wanted cheese on his. They were expensive, for just that alone. First, there was no cheese, no butter, just dry with bacon and scrambled egg. My Husband was furious, because he said don't forget the cheese, and the girl said she wouldn't. They did not taste good, too dry, and no flavor. We would have given them back, but we were eating them in the car as we drove. The frozen ones you get at the store are better then this. That's it, we won't try it again. we were so dissapointed, because this is close by. But, there are some good places in Guerneville,(Pat's) and the restaurant across from Don's Dogs is good, right on HWY 116. This is just overpriced and bland. We won't go there again.
