My husband and I drove three hours to see the elk on my birthday last year. We drove to Ridgway looking for a place to eat. Found Lumberjacks. We were seated right away and ordered our meal. We both ordered steak salads. They were fantastic! In fact we plan to visit again on my birthday!
I have dined here on several occasions. Sometimes inside in the resturant and sometimes out on the deck and sometimes in the bar. Its always been great food. From the filet mignon to bar food to the salads. Not the fast service...but i'm there with friends or family so I never minded the extra time for conversation. I always look forward to going their when I'm in town.
Went there for dinner had the 12 oz rib-eye steak done medium, it was a little more than medium and was about as dry as the sawdust that was left over from the milling of the lumber that decorated the walls.
What a great dinner we had at the Lumberjack. I had a porterhouse and my husband had the axe cut ribeye. Start to finish we were in and out of the there in under 1 hour. I finished the meal with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake to go. It was without a doubt the best cheesecake I've ever had. Our bill came to $57 plus tip...very affordable. Our waitress was Kendra..what a sweetheart she was.
Great food!! and I'm not kidding...this was the all time best hamburger my wife and I have ever had. We are in our 50's, so in our life we have had plenty of burgers. This, by far, was the best. Wait staff was very pleasant and served us well. The wait for our meal was about 15 minutes, and we had our drinks promptly. Our order was correct and just delicious. I will tell you, I was a bit confused by their hours. Diningroom on Saturday was closed so we had to eat in the bar area, which is very confortable, with lots of table seating....and there was no dinner menu available as they were closing at 4:00 that day for some reason. Please go, give it a try.
By nature I am a patient person, and I rarely complain, however my husband and I could not wait to get home and post our opinion about this restaurant. The place looked nice inside and out and we were looking forward to a good meal. We got there at about 3:00 pm for a late lunch. We waited to be seated approximately 15 mins. It's not as if we were waiting in a line, there was no one there to greet us. After being sat, it took quite awhile to get menus and our order in. The waitress sightings were few. At least 7 tables were left unbused. Our order, a salad and a hamburger took over 45 mins. to be served. The hamburger was served with fries instead of onion rings and the wrong topping and cheese were on the burger.
The wait staff was apathetic and unfriendly. As former restaurant owners, I have no idea how this place stays in business.
Horrible dining experience! We got there at 6 pm on a Saturday. Orders were taken by 6:15...and then the wait began. 6:30..sorry no tonic water, so had to reorder a drink. 6:40, we were informed they had run out of the special...prime rib. Had to reorder. Salads came before appetizers at 6:50..no rolls...never got them inspite of requesting two more times. (The wait staff seemed totally overwhlemed.) At 7:10, we got our appetizers...okay, things are picking up!! At 7:30...the waitress apologized for the wait and brought us a free round of drinks. The table next to us waited THIRTY MINUTES for their drinks...and never got their rolls either. Two tables came in...and waited and waited....and finally got up and left. FINALLY...at 8:10 our meals came. There was NO manager to speak to and nobody seemed to care that we waited for over TWO HOURS to get our food. They offered us free dessert ..to go...and brought us two pieces of cheesecake for a table of four. For a bill of over $100, we expected MUCH better. Don't go there, people.
We went to the Lumberjack recently and were very disappointed. The restaurant itself is an original work of art. Too bad the food wasn't. Burgers were okay, but most items on the dinner menu were very overpriced for the quality. Service is extremely slow. We will not be returning.
I just ate there today for the first time and I must say that I liked it. I had a bowl of clam chowder, that was huge, and a rueben sandwich with onion rings. The onion rings were nice and big, hot and crunchy. The rueben was also very good. After eating the big bowl of chowder I was so full that I wasn't able to eat all of my rueben. No problem though, I threw it in a box and brought it home.
My fiancee had the chicken strips with french fries and she too was happy with it.
I didn't feel the prices were outrageuos like a previous customer said. Our entire meal came to less than $25. and I was stuffed and satisfied.
I'm looking forward to Saturdays Prime Rib night in the near future and hope to make this establishment a regular eating out place for myself, family and friends.
