I visited Park Crest Calle Larga for the first time last night, since it was the location my brother's family chose for his surprise birthday party. My brother is one of the pickiest people I know, so I figured it had to be good, but I was in for a nice surprise. I was extremely impressed, and will definitely return, even though it was an hour and a half drive from my home. First, the atmosphere was awesome--very comfortable with wonderful aesthetics. I had heard great things about this restaurant from other people, and now I understand why. There are several rooms available with various settings, such as intimate, romantic two-seater nooks by windows, to large tables able to accommodate parties such as our own last night. There is even a ballroom for larger parties. Second, and most importantly, the food was excellent, of highest quality, and presented in courses elegantly. Lastly, the staff was friendly, accommodating, and extremely competent. My husband and I loved every minute and will definitely be headed back to this quaint location in the country to this converted schoolhouse! We are thrilled to have found another favorite!
This place was a complete nightmare. I brought some friends from out of town for a special dinner and was basically charged a lot of money for an evening that was less than enjoyable. The chef was like some sort of bad theater production. He kept coming out to the dining room, practically harassing individual tables with an overbearing personality. The food was particularly salty, as though he was missing some taste buds (not to mention quite a few teeth). There was nothing pleasurable about the experience at this restaurant and I would not ever refer anyone to this place.
I can honestly say Valentines Day was memorable. It was suppose to be a nice evening with my spouse but turned into a nightmare all the way around, except for the entertainment. I've got to say I don't think I will be returning to this place. I really can't go into detail because I don't have an hour to spare. Anger Management might prove to be helpful for the chef.
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone uless you want to be ripped off. We had a part of 13 people there to celebrate 2 birthdays. The chef came out & put on a good show saying he was going to send samples out of crab cakes & seafood crepes. The food was wonderful. It took atleast 40 minutes from our arrival to receive menus. When dinner was finally served they served one plate at a time, so by the time the last person received their food the first people were done eating. The wait staff never came around to see if anyone needed drinks or anything else. After we finished eating, I had to get up and ask for my check after waiting at least 30 minutes. The check was astronomical because we were charged for 13 seafood crepes which we didn't order and that was $143. A food critic needs to go in and check this place out, very poor service. And I failed to mention that on their website fillet mignon was $23 and when you get there the menu says $32. Needless to say it wasn't my best birthday, thank goodness I was with good friends and family to make up for the poor service, extremely ridiculous prices. I also need to mention the chef was screaming and yelling at the wait staff that you can hear him in the dining room, not very professional. Don't waste your money here.
