I couldn't say how authentic the food is because I don't have that experience, but it's great and I suspect it ranks among the top Mexican food in upstate New York. There is a wide selection of menu items and ways to put your favorites together. You get up to two free bowls of chips and salsa, the first of which comes out immediately upon your arrival. If you're interested in Mexican restaurant staples like strange flavored sodas and fried ice cream, you won't be disappointed here.
If you're looking to spend some time with someone on a date, for example, I recommend ordering drinks and/or appetizers first, with menu meals later, because the food comes out lightning fast on hot plates... your conversation has only begun and your table is suddenly filled with yummy, steaming food. On a budget, the weekend buffet is not bad at all, but doesn't really measure up to the regular menu.
The staff is very friendly as well. There's a lot of family there--staff has their kids ther sometimes and they tend to behave well enough. They work hard and tend to speak enough English to do the job. In my experience they are also quite attentive when they should be.
