We went to Tommy's for lunch this past Friday. The ambience was very tuscany, italy which I thought was cute because from the outside it just looked kinda bla! But overall the experience wasn't so bad, the waitress wasnt too friendly but she because nicer towards the end. They also had a huge lunch order which caused all of our lunches to be late. However the food was hot and fresh. It was worth the wait. We will go back to see if we will get faster service, and the lunch specials were affordable.
In the past the portions have been filling and just to the correct temp. The consistently lately has not been the same.
We used to go once a week.
The staff kept forgetting all that we ordered and the French onion soup was bland and cold twice. I ordered the special and it came out different than it was explained.
I am not sure if we will go back there for a long while.
Tommy - What have you changed beside being cheaper. I wouldn't mind paying a little more if you went back to the old way of prepairing and serving.
We had enjoyed good meals in the past, but last night was a great disappointment. The bread was over toasted, the butter was still frozen, the soup was half the portion it used to be and the main entrees were much smaller then before. The stuffed shrimp & pasta dish only came with 4 shrimps instead of six and a lot less pasta. The veal dish was skimpy as well. Although the food was tasty, the quantity was severely lacking and diminished. The service was quite poor. It was slow, inattentive, and some of the drinks never refilled. We will not go back there again and recommend that you don't either.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Moderately priced; but, compares with more expensive high end restaurants. Owner is a Master Chef & has brought his award winning recipes from New York.
Food is consistently fresh & well prepared. Nightly Specials are always interesting & worth a try. Staff is uniformly friendly & helpful. Modest wine selection could/should be expanded. I have become a regular & unhesitatingly recommend Tommy's.
My wife had Tommys Pizza cater an event at our home and the food was outstanding, the owner Tommy and his staff are very professional, kind and helpful. If only the City of Davie had more restaurants like Tommy's if would be a pleasure to dine out mor offten.
I went with my wife and daughter there for dinner and was Highly surprised. First the owner of this restaurant Tommy is the former owner of the Sherwood Diner in Lawrence NY which was always a favorite of ours (when er lived on LI). Second the food was excellent I had the Pasta with Garlic and Olive oil, the pasta was excellent cooked perfectly Al dente. My wife had the Ziti and heres was excellent too. This is a nice local place with great food a nice atmosphere and a chef who loves what he does. Try it you'll love it..
