My girlfriend is Korean and she's frequently exposed me to alot of Korean dishes. I have come to the conclusion that I'm not a huge fan of Korean food. We decided to visit Savannah and her sister had previously informed us of Kim Chi II with good reviews, so we went there. Of course I was skeptical but I was willing to experiment once again.
It was the middle of the day so it was fairly slow. We were immediately greeted and seated. (Side note: The bathrooms were very clean). It took me a while to decide what I wanted and our waiter was very patient. He even helped me decide on my dish.
My GF ordered Kimchi Bokumbop Kimpop and I had Galbitang. It came with kimchi, yams, bean sprouts, rice, and cucumber. And it was SOOOOOO good!!!! We ate everything! And got refills on the yams and cucumbers. Everything was perfectly spiced. My meat was tender and well seasoned. I could tell a difference in taste in the kimchi on the table and the one in her dish. They were both delicious. I am now a huge fan of this place. We both crave it everyday. We can't wait for the next time we're in town to eat there.
Like I said, it was slow. I don't know if that contributed to better prepared food and prompt service. I'm no expert on Korean food but its damn good and my girlfriend had recently come back from Korea last month so she defintely knows what Korean food tastes like and she liked this,
the jap chae is one of the best i have ever eatten - from a restaurant, a friend's mom, or mine!! chewy sweet potato starch cellophane noodles are a must try if you enjoy tasting the differences between asian noodle dishes. stews, grilled fish, and the meat dishes are all served. folks are friendly and will get help to guide you thru the cuisine in english. this place is so good that i don't hold out until i go on vacation.closed on mondays.
