Food and drink is extremely overpriced for the quality. However the Jamaican Jet Fuels do go down smooth. Atmosphere is what brings customers to this restaurant. The waitstaff provided wonderful service, but it was actually the owner Cpt Chuck who helped to ruin our evening. I have never met a bigger loud mouth, arrogant, and annoying person in my life. Pass on this restaurant as there are many better places to eat in Hampton Roads.
My husband and I ate at Chuck-A-Muck's after hearing several of our customers rave about it. They were right - the food is fabulous and plenty of it. Great crab soup, crab cakes and fabulous tuna steak. The desserts are to die for. We will definitely go back.
My family and I were out in the area at a local Farmers Market and decided to try this restaurant for lunch. Like many other people, we also heard about this place from when it was featured on The Food Network. I was so impressed with how CLEAN it was and loved the beach/boating decor! They offer crayons for the kids and a paper table cover for them to draw all over and keep them entertained too. You can sit outside on the deck over looking the water and boats going by or you can dine inside where you can sit in the air conditioning and view everything from inside. Our service was outstanding and my husband and I loved the very meaty and flavorful crab cakes! You really can't buy crab cakes anywhere like this unless you know how to make them yourself at home. The kids enjoyed a juicy burger and chicken tenders and we all enjoyed our sides of coleslaw and fries. Everything is homemade and very FRESH! We were too full to try the desserts this time but we do plan to go back and sample those next time. I heard the key lime pie is awesome!
We saw this on Food TV's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The next day we drove over an hour to get there and were in for a really special treat. It is some of the best seafood we have ever had! A delightful, low-key, casual dining experience. If you love fresh seafood, you'll return again and again.
