I would not object if someone accused Angels in the Park of having tacky décor, slow kitchen service (glacial slow at times), and unorganized floor service. It does have its “warts and horns”. But, Angels has never failed to provide my husband and me with an entertaining, unique, and delicious dining experience.
The decor is by no means tactful, but tacky fun located in a handsome, historic building adjacent to the Park. It has ambiance - period.
The staff is gracious and eager to serve, especially the Russian hobbit who shuffles around refilling your water/wine glass. She always has a story but never lingers or over stays her welcome. She is delightful and our favorite.
The food is what brings us back time and time again. The menu is genuine Italian, prepared to perfection each and every time. The consistency has been remarkable. From Chicken Marsalis (my husband enjoyed it so much he ordered it two nights in a row!) to Veal Parmigiana, the prosciutto has always been perfect. We have never been disappointed. It may not be for everyone but we will continue to celebrate our Anniversary at Angels in the Park. It is an unforgettable dining experience.
