Indian Garden claims to be the first Indian restaurant in the nation to offer hakka cuisine. Hakka in this case means the food Chinese make in India, somewhat analogous to American-Chinese food (such as General Tso's Chicken). In addition to the Indian-Chinese food, India Garden also offers common Indian dishes like Tandoori Chicken, and vindaloos, curries, and kebabs with shrimp, lamb, chicken, and even goat, alongside naan and lassis. Vegetarians will have a wide selection at India Garden, such as Baingan Bhartha, a roasted eggplant dish, or Saag Paneer, cheese squares in a spinach dish. India Garden also offers a lunch buffet. - Marjorie Jensen
I have been to India Garden many many times. It's always been for their lunch buffet - never tried there for dinner. I think the reason is that I really like all the options on the buffet, and would miss that if I went for dinner. Its my number one choice when I need a curry fix. I am never disappointed and they always push my limits a little, meaning that it seems like they always have something a little different on the buffet. Furthermore, my kids love this buffet! I like the Hakka cuisine as well, especially the spicy cabbage dish (sorry, forgot the name). No problems with the service either! Our empty plates disappear quickly, and our water is always full.
I love India Garden - this is my FAVORITE restaurant and best Indian food in Cleveland. The service has been great when I go, and I have been there when it is busy and slow. The owners are the nicest people in the world!!!!
I've been here a few times with friends and family. After the first time we went, we promptly moved Indian Garden to the top of our 'eating out' list. The food was great and slightly non-traditional. Their seasoning was unique for Indian food. Each time we went back (three more times), our dining experience became worse. The service is HORRIBLE. Food didn't come out. Orders of nan came out after our food was cold or finished. And service became very very slow. In spite of the good food, I would not suggest going unless it's during off hours. If the parking lot is full, go home and order a pizza.
