Pop's Italian Beef and Sausage
Pop's Italian Beef and Sausage all started with Frank Radochonski. His dedication, hard work, and commitment to success have all paid off for the past 30 years. With the help of his mom Betty, family, friends, and hard working employees, his business continues to grow. The original store first opened March 24, 1980 in Palos Heights, IL. Frank was 23 years old upon opening the store with one goal in mind, to work hard. Nothing could stop this guy from making the most popular fast food restaurant in Palos Heights. Even though there are now many locations the one owned by Frank Radochonski is the first and original. He's behind the counter day in and day out, making sure his store is up to his standards and of course, able to say hi to one of the many well-known, everyday faces. His business continues to grow with these familiar customers, great food and good service.
I ordered a double italian sausage sandwich, lighty dipped and the person took my order was the owner he said his name was MARK. I ordered to go, then went to my vehicle took my sandwich out and put up to my mouth and sauce dripped on my pants before I could take a bite. The sandwich was soaked, so I took the sandwich back in and handed it to the person who took my order and told him I said I ordered it lighty dipped and he said here is your money back, instead of giving me a different bun. I asked his name so that I could complain and he said I am the owner and my name is Mark. That was very rude and apparantly he don't care about customer service and I will not go there again because I don't believe he is a good business man and is very rude and no one there seems to be polite. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
Great jumbo hot dogs and decent beef but everything else is below average at best. The service is very fast but the staff is not friendly and lacks in customer service. I would imagine they get this from the manager who is not friendly towards anyone and does not acknowledge customers and when asked a direct question will not stop what he's doing do give you an answer. I have noticed this on more than three occasions. The prices are very high for what you get and the front door of the restaurant doesn't open very easy at all. I have seen older
people and children just stand and wait for someone to come and open the door b/c it's so hard to open. You would think with the prices they charge they could have the one and only door for customers adjusted...
