Deserving of the success they appear to be having. Often packed, can be noisy - sometimes music/sometimes sports broadcasts. The Italian Sausage Sandwich (a special not always available) is delicious! Good french fries - crisp outside, soft in. They have a nice hot grill & aren't afraid to use it! Steaks can be charred on the outside/rare inside - if that's what you like, Salmon is the same-crispy charred outside & sashimi like inside. Service can be inattentive - food comes & you may never see waiter again, however - although there seems to be some improvement lately. Great place for all ages - we've seen a couple celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary in one room while a large table or ~5 year olds are celebrating a 5th birthday. Nice selection of beers - local and imported. Decent selection of wines by the glass - although they frequently run out of syrahs & zins by the glass . . . Desserts aren't great. Mixed drinks are iffy.
It's the most tolerable 'Sports Bar' for non sports enthusiasts around - because despite the sports-tuned-TV-screen-covered walls, it is music, not obnoxious sportscasting that has filled the air each time I've been in. There's not much for vegetarians - and it's too bad, since, all the ingredients for a great veggie club are already in other items on the menu: several types of cheese, avocado, mixed greens, cucumbers, killer spicy tartar sauce, tomatoes (good ones) and a variety of nice rolls & breads to choose from. Maybe they don't want to attract tree huggers ;-) - and luckily, I'm not a vegetarian - but I seem to have a lot of veggie friends - and I'd like to dine at Beyond the Glory more often . . . and with the veggie friends. There is a black bean burger (which sounded rather ominous to all of us - but maybe do-able if you don't plan to be in close quarters with anyone afterwards. . . .Great salads, caesars, mixed greens, ahi tuna special & a fried chicken salad. Oh, one gripe - there's a dill pickle sliced lengthwise served alongside every dish it seems - and the flavor of the pickle infuses the surrounding food with its dill pickle-y taste. . . . yech.
Yummy special sandwiches - the Dirty Bird (fried chicken sandwich) is delicious! Lobster salad sandwich also good. Great baby greens salads & excellent balsamic dressing. Good caesar salads. This is a meat oriented - burgers, bacon, pulled pork oriented place - so there are few choices for vegetarians - fewer for vegans. There isn't a vegetarian sandwich on the menu - though they have all the ingredients - avo, tomato, lettuce, cheese, etc. Many sauces have a little spice - a little chili heat - which I love - but if you're sensitive to chili - be forewarned there is a tad in the tartar sauce and on the fried chicken sandwich. Service can be poor. Food can be slow to come out. Often once served, we don't see our waiter again till we're done.
Great place for burgers/beers and to catch a game or two. Come early if you're planning on seeing a big game.
My wife will even come to enjoy the chicken sandwich. Clean, family friendly, and a lot of fun!!
