Takumi Restaurant, Los Angeles

I read a lot of the positive reviews and tried Takumi today after a Dodger game. We were there on a Sunday at 5:30pm and they had just reopened for dinner. The interior of the restaurant is not much to look at but I've been pleasantly surprised before. The Sushi and Sahimi, especially the Tuna and Yellow Tail were excellent. No 'taste' or 'aftertaste' as some say and they were good and solid cuts. We also. tried a spicy yellowtail roll and Although we were not particularly impressed with it, we agreed the ingredients were fresh. Overall I think it's a solid 3 or 4 stars and a safe bet for anyone.

I went to Takumi Restaurant in Little Tokyo area of LA. It was highly recommended by many friends. The sushi tastes great but the portions were a little small for the average sushi eater. The Omakase didn't taste as I expected. The quality was good...not excellent...just good.

I went to Takumi Restaurant in Little Tokyo area in Down Town Los Angeles. This restaurant is fabulous. Their sashimi is fresh, high quality and perfect size. Then I surprised. I ordered Omakase (recommendation). I ate All sushi in Omakase Coruse without Soy Saurce (Can you believe it?). I was really sick and tired of same taste over and over at other sushi restaurants. However, this place prepare all sushi with seasonings other than Soy Saurce. I would say you should try at least once.

I visited Takumi on a friend's recommendation. I've since sent her a bouquet of flowers. This sushi restaurant is all about the food. The decor is classic simplicity and minimalism ... the sushi isn't. The fish here is heaven to the taste buds. Order the toro or yellowtail belly and you'll become a regular, like myself. I highly recommend Takumi to anyone who wishes to enjoy top-quality sushi in the heart of Little Tokyo.
