Great people!
Dive Makai offers a reasonable price with extensive information in a safe environment for anyone's first scuba experience. Although my husband couldn't dive because of athsma (which needs to be mentioned on their website or in their info. packet) and I became too seasick to dive---I still give this company five stars. They were informative, helpful, gracious, friendly, encouraging and understanding. All of these things are REALLY IMPORTANT when you are puking off their portside bow, which I was. They took us back to the harbor when it was obvious that we couldn't participate and I wasn't feeling good on the boat. They offered us seats on the boat later in the week if I felt better and could take some motion-sickness medicine. I was getting out my money to pay them for the trip, as per their contract (if you feel too sick to dive, you still have to pay for the excursion) and the owner refused my money! I was really surprised and impressed by this. He said that we had a bad time and he didn't want us to pay. Dive Makai is an organized, safe, friendly and honorable business. If I have the chance again (and can medicate my sea-sickness!) I'll dive with them. Sure, I didn't feel well and couldn't dive, but their professionalism impressed me to no end. I give them 5 stars, wholeheartedly.
