I read about the historic Waipi'o Valley -the place to see the splendor of a Hawaiian wilderness area. Well, okay, not exactly wilderness, but what a beautiful place to visit.
You do not want to try to hike into the Waipi'o Valley unless you are and experienced hiker. The road descends 1,500 feet in a quarter mile! Very steep. The gang from Na'alapa Stables comes up, out of the valley to meet you at the Waipi'o Valley Artworks. There you climb into the Na'alapa van for the ride down into the valley. Once in the valley, at the stables, the horses are ready to go and they know the way.
