Pacific Fine Art Gallery

Description

Located in the front of the Kona Inn Shopping Village, this gallery is easy to spot from the street. An austere woman presides over the premises, making sure that no wandering shoppers treat the gallery with undue levity. Dozens of local and international artists are on display. While most of the works are oil or watercolor paintings, some prints and three-dimensional art works are also for sale.

Beautiful Gallery
By Pamela, 1/27/12
I was strolling the Village at the Kona Inn and at first ran out of time to explore Pacific Fine Art but made it a point on our itinerary to get back to the gallery. With more time, a day later, I spent relaxed time in the gallery with Catherine Coatney, discussing the beautiful art and the different artists style. It wasn't long for Catherine to discover my style and art interests. I ended up with a lovely Quillian bronze of turtles with seaweed. I highly recommend stopping by Pacific Fine Art if you are interested in purchasing a wonderful piece of art to remember your trip to the Islands.

Beautiful Gallery!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/11
There were so many wonderful artists well represented in this gallery, and we did purchase a painting by Michael Sheeler. Later during our stay we were able to meet and chat with him for quite a while as he worked on a current piece. We found him refreshing, open and very humble. What a lovely person, as were all the consultants in the gallery. We would love to visit again! Ken & Mary Ota

Robert Sheeling - artist
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/10
Robert was painting in the gallery and we spent about an hour talking art - he never tried to sell me his art - nore did the Gallery sales people bother me - I asked a question and it was answer - try that down the street at the Wyland Buy More. Pacific Fine Art is a Great Place with the most trust worthy sales people I have met in a gallery

Instantly drawn in.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/24/08
We have been in many times over the course of our several trips but for some reason, as were on our way through the area, we spied a very interesting piece of art that drew us right in. As we looked at it (and others) we met Leigh and we discussed the particular peice and well as others by the artist. Although we were sort of rushed in making our decision in a friendly way, we still had a pleaseant experience. To our surprise, we came back a couple of days later and bought a second peice. The only negative thing was having to wait a long time to get it shipped to us.

A Wonderful Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/9/07
I have been to many art galleries before, but have never been intrigued to buy anything over 100 dollars. I finally bought my first nice (expensive) painting at Pacific Fine Art. I walked in, looking for something to put in my island-inspired room and fell in love with a whale painting. I don't know what struck me about, but I loved it. After a week in Hawaii, I decided to buy it. The person who helped me was very helpful, and gave me a new price that fit my price range better. It hasn't arrived yet, but they said not to expect it for a couple of months. It has to come all the way from the artist! Isn't that neat? I was very pleased with the open environment and the seperate room for viewing your painting. Even if you are not looking to buy a peice of art, I would suggest a visit to this gallery anyway. The local artists presented there are amazing. -I will be posting another review once it gets here. I think that's fair.

Beautiful pieces
By Mike, 11/24/07
They allowed me to look without being overbearing. I ended up buying a hand blown, hand painted vase. They split the shipping costs with me. When I went to another island, I found the same piece (not completely identical since it's hand painted) for $15 less.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/07
We love the Pacific Fine Art gallery. We had bought a Wish Keeper Vase there for our 12th anniversary and love it. This time we bought 6 Filgate prints (the Rip Stitch series). We made our decision in about 15 minutes because Erin was SO helpful. We always seem to migrate there when we are in Hawaii. Now we just have to build more walls for the art!

My Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/07
Kaleena was a joy to work with. I fell in love with a painting, but since I'm very much on a budget and can't just plunk down any amount without first thinking it over, I took about a week to make up my mind and then I put it on my credit card with payments every month so I could afford to do this. I now have a beautiful "7 Pools" hanging in my living area and it reminds me often of my trip in February, 2007, with a dear friend who had retired and wanted a friend to go with her for a month. I could only afford 2 weeks, but oh, what a wonderful 2 weeks we had in the condo we had and going to fun places. My husband and I are coming back in February, 2008 to spend 3 weeks in a condo at Kona so I will again be visiting the art gallery and seeing Kaleena and maybe seeing another painting I can't live without! Amazing artists!

I rate this Gallery a 10!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/07
Wow! It's all I can say about this place. We live close to the Scottsdale Galleries, so I have been in dozens of fine art galleries, but none compare to the overall quality of the items here! Each piece seems to be picked with care and thoughtfulness on a grand scale. Erin is wonderful and we felt right at home. Bought two nice pieces and can't wait to get them!

Dreaming of Returning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/07
We stumbled upon this gallery when our ship docked at Kailua-Kona. Of all the galleries we visited on our four-island cruise, this was our favorite. The director on duty that day, Kalena LeMay, was anything but austere. This very pleasant and friendly lady made us feel as comfortable browsing through the gallery as we feel with our own family in our own home. It was the perfect laid-back Hawaiin environment for appreciating the island fine art. We dream of returning.
