Description

Wine drinkers will love this store. Medium-sized and easy to navigate, the store sells thousands of vintages, brews and liquors, including wines from the Volcano Winery. It also sells delicious gourmet foods to accompany any beverage. The sales staff is friendly and down-to-earth. The shop is located in the charming King Kamehameha Mall, which is not to be confused with the shopping center of the same name located in the King Kam Hotel a block away. Signs advertise it to road and pedestrian traffic on the busy thoroughfare outside.

We just happened upon Kona Wine Market They moved to Kona Commons on Makala Blvd. 3yrs ago ... was looking for some wine for our stay on the Big Island and a special gift for friends we were staying with. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised by the decor and their knowledgable staff. We left with having a great experience and some fantastic wines, Husband was delighted with their selection of beer ...and were able to get a basket made up for our friends. We went back the following Friday with our Friends for the wine tasting.

This is the most amazing experience. The selection of wine was a bit overwhelming however we arrived during a wine tasting that they offer at no charge on Fridays. Unaware they also have 100 different beers from around the world and the best Spirit offerings even in our Mainland home. The Sammy Hagar Rum made on Maui and the local wines, and other products are all on the Website (just Googled Kona Wine) and had bottles shipped to Blaine WA. The Manager is very knowledgable and they gift wrapped the bottle we purchased.

My mom will be moving to Hawaii this summer and we went to visit recently to check out local schools, neighborhoods, and a little sight seeing. Our last night there we found an add in the Yellow Pages for the Kona Wine Market and Mixx Bistro. We didn't get a chance to visit the Market, but the Mixx Bistro was a great experience. The bar had a great atmosphere and was attached to an outdoor patio. The wine selection was perfect and the food delightful. Especially the fries - best in Kona! Which I have the owner to thank for! We enjoyed the company of locals and assured that the island would be a great place to live. The Market and the Mixx are a definite must see if visiting Kona!
