Huggo's On the Rocks, Kailua Kona

Loved the sand under the tables, the fact that it is right out on the water and the entertainment (the Hawaiian James Taylor) was as soothing and he sounded good! French fries were very good!

Cannot fault the seting. On the rocks right by the sea. A guitar player plays and sings (every song sounds the same) and a rather mature lady dances the hula. It is not often I could complain about the size of portions in the USA but my kalbi ribs consisted of five small pieces of bone with tatters of meat attached to them. This served with potato chips straight from the packet. My wife's cocktail was so weak I took it back to complain there was no alcohol in it at all and watched while they made her another. Had to call in the deli on the way home to get a snack.

Was there on a Friday night in October; actually it was raining a little. People were still dancing and drinking. Crowd was very friendly. Most of people stood around or danced with the crowd. I'm trying to move to Big Island; where I get there I'll be hitting this place on Friday night.

Nice location & atmosphere. Service is fair to average at best. The food is on the side of good. The prices are as though it’s a much fancier place. Can’t smoke while drinking, even outside. It’ll do though.
