Denali Outdoor Center, Denali National Park

I did not care for their customer service. We were on our way to Anchorage and my 3 year old daughter told us she needed to go to the bathroom. As soon as we seen the first available stopped we pulled off to let her go. I was walking towards the bathroom and an employee came out and asked if I needed any help, I said, "No, I'm just using the bathroom." Then she told me they were for rafting customers only. By the time my daughter had come around I told her she couldn't use the potty yet and we had to go somewhere else. So she was crying...Then my husband said, "So your telling me my 3 year old daughter can't use the bathroom?" She said, "I'm sorry there for rafting customers only." We were very appauld at there customer service and that our daughter was not able to use the bathroom. It wasn't like we were going to use extra water, it was just an out house!! I

Took the Nenana Half Day Run...our guide was nice, and knowledgeable. The trip was great but it was just a little too long, making the 2-hr Canyon Run a better option. I give it a 1 out of 5 stars rating because of the broken wet suit they issued to 2 out of 3 in our group. We don't mind getting wet, as our group loves the water, but when you're in glacial run-off water, and your wet suits have a leak, then it really becomes a freezingly-uncomfortable ride. I literally could not walk after the trip as both my feet went numb but the company did not seem to care, and just went on to their usual business, knowing that you signed a waiver w/them about the risks of river rafting. I had to wrap both feet in blanket for about 4 hours at our base camp before I could start walking. Unpleasant rafting experience. I would recommend other rafting companies.

The DOC is the only company I trust to take me down the Nenana! Experienced guides make me feel confident that I will not perish in this Glacial River! Ok - I have a fear of water - not all water - but raging glacial water!!! It took a bit of coaxing to get me to try this trip and it was worth it!!! Oh yeah - I almost drowned in this river a few years ago without a "proper" guide!!!
