Lowry Park Zoo, Tampa

I enjoyed th entire zoo We came from out of state looking for something to do and read the reviews and I am glad I decided to still go. I did not find one rude staff and I was looking I enjoy killing rude people with excessive kindness. Several staff members that we encountered were very helpful and polite and knowledgeable about the animals. The sting ray encounter was closed and a couple of rides. The croc tank was empty would of thought that would be a easy one to fill (Florida LOL) Thye Florida exhibit was very nice and had alot of neat stuff to see. We even saw a snake crossing the path right in front of us we were told it was a Black Racer. Overall we enjoyed it spent 5hrs saw everything and kids went on rides. All exhibits were clean and roomy the animals looked happy and fat including the Asian Python LOL HUGE

1st: I bought a drink, Extra large for my fiance and I. At first it was the wrong drink so we had to ask for the right one - then we were told that they don't have any tops (plastic cup covers) or straws! Something blew into our cup. Who would have imagined that could happen on a windy day at a zoo!? 2nd: Multiple (Over 10) exhibits were empty or contained a chicken or rooster only. Need I say more? 3rd: The Florida exhibit was closed. About half of the animals that are big and interesting were off limits... Wish we would have never gone there, don't waste your money.

EVERYTHING WAS TEMPORALY CLOSED TICKET PRICE WAS OUTRAGOUS FOR NOTHING BEING OPEN.. STAFF WAS RUDE. AND ITS A VERY SMALL PLACE DID EVERTHING IN 2 HOURS!

We paid full price and most of the exhibits were temporarily closed. If a lot of stuff is temporarily closed then why are customers still paying full price????

The zoo was fairly nice but some of the employees there apparently did not want to be there and were rude. Once was when I politely asked the cashier if he could change a $100 bill and he snapped back at me with "I've done it before!" As if I was questioning his math skills. The other time was when we returned our rental stroller and another young employee did not even speak to me even when I was the one who said thank you to him. Also when I asked the young man running the roller coaster a question about tokens he ignored my question and began to make multiple comments on my height in front of everyone. Overall it was an o.k. Zoo itself but there is a huge difference between their employees and Disney for example, where we were earlier in the week. Too many ill trained staff.

The zoo was pretty middle of the road. The animals seemed happy and were pretty active. It was about the most expensive zoo we've ever been to, and the staff was rude. We bought a season pass but they would not let us pick it up on the same day. They claimed they had to do paperwork and process the credit card before they would give us the card. Apparently they have the technology of the 1950's. So we will have to make a special trip back at some point just to pick up the card. We were informed this is "park policy." The staff was grumpy and clearly did not want to be there. We would not go back except we probably will since we got the season pass before we got in (not a good idea). Of course we would go back just for the animals; not the DMV-esque staff. At least they have reciprocal park admission at lots of other zoos across the country.

I have no complaints, This is truly the best zoo for the value. My favorite thing was watching the mama and baby Rhino run around their enclosure.All the enclosures were nice size for animals as for being in captivity. Feeding the Giraffe was great,watch out the tonge can be slimmy.:) A great day out.

lived in florida for 5 years never been to the zoo...my grandson came to visit this month so we decided to see animals...The lowry park zoo was a great choice..the zoo is beautiful,the animals and cages are clean...my grandsons loved feeding the giraffes.i think the adults in my group had a better time the the kids...hi 5 LOWRY park,we will be back.....jsut one complaint that i do have,went to eat lunch at GRUB&GROG....dont do it...the server was very rude after i bought back a chocolate milk that was expired....but like i said it was a great day,even my 16 year old had a great time,and we all know how teenagers are..so if you want a nice day out i would highly recommend the LOWRY PARK ZOO..the penguins were awesome too.

We visited this zoo with our preschool age children after reading several books on African animals and manatees. This is by far the cleanest zoo we have visited and the animals looked lively and often interacted with visitors. Next time, we'll call in advance to find out when the programs take place. The primate and manatee presentations sound neat. We'll also make the effort to arrive first thing in the morning, because this zoo takes all day to get through. It is huge with so many animals to see! My son's favorite part of the day was riding the camel and I loved seeing the giraffes up close. Beautiful animals!
