50 reviews for Lowry Park Zoo
my kids have fun everytime we go.
By Beth, 02/08/10
My family I and I go all the time. It cost less to get in rather than paying $50-$60 a person at Busch Gardens. There is always coupons to save money. It is really cool that they have a sanctuary for lots of small birds that you can feed nector and sometimes they land on you. The kids enjoy seeing all the animals and feeding the giraffes. Granted, you do have to pay a couple extra bucks for it but its worth seeing the kids faces doing it. How many wild animals in your lifetime do you get to feed from your hand? They have their own aquarium which contains rescued manatees, turtles, etc... I don't like eating at their McDs cause the employees don't look happy and if they aren't happy with their job just might do something to my food. They have other different food that is pricey. Its not great food and I don't want to waste my money We always eat before we go there. We could spend hours at the kids little water park and when we would leave they fall asleep before we even left the parking lot. I am very happy with the zoo and the animals look happy as well. I am an animal lover and if I had seen anything that was disturbing believe me when I say I would go Ape S**t on them!! My family and I will continue to go there as long as we live in Florida.

Great zoo & Animals looked happy.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/10
I have no complaints, This is truly the best zoo for the value. My favorite thing was watching the mama and baby Rhino run around their enclosure. All the enclosures were nice size for animals as for being in captivity. Feeding the Giraffe was great, watch out the tonge can be slimmy.:) A great day out.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/09
lived in florida for 5 years never been to the zoo...my grandson came to visit this month so we decided to see animals...The lowry park zoo was a great choice..the zoo is beautiful, the animals and cages are clean...my grandsons loved feeding the giraffes.i think the adults in my group had a better time the the kids...hi 5 LOWRY park,we will be back.....jsut one complaint that i do have, went to eat lunch at GRUB&GROG....dont do it...the server was very rude after i bought back a chocolate milk that was expired....but like i said it was a great day, even my 16 year old had a great time, and we all know how teenagers are..so if you want a nice day out i would highly recommend the LOWRY PARK ZOO..the penguins were awesome too.

Excellent day trip with little kids!
By Tracy, 03/22/09
We visited this zoo with our preschool age children after reading several books on African animals and manatees. This is by far the cleanest zoo we have visited and the animals looked lively and often interacted with visitors. Next time, we'll call in advance to find out when the programs take place. The primate and manatee presentations sound neat. We'll also make the effort to arrive first thing in the morning, because this zoo takes all day to get through. It is huge with so many animals to see! My son's favorite part of the day was riding the camel and I loved seeing the giraffes up close. Beautiful animals!

Best Zoo
By Carrie, 03/16/09
When I was achild my Grand parents lived in Tampa we would spend the summer there. They would take us there when Lowry Park was just that a park. Anyone remember Sheena the elephant? I have apic of me and my brother sitting on her. We moved to St Pete in 2006 my Grandon loved going there, of course we got season passes. And spent very memorable weekends there. He loved Zoo Boo the best, it was fun to go at night and to all of their special events, Now living back in the Chicago area I and my grandson miss the Zoo very much, he looks at the website all the time and wishes to go back. It is the best Zoo that I haver ever been to. I enjoyed iit more than our Zoos here in Chicago. I would go again and again. Loved it and brought a lot of memories for me.

Luv it!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/09
We visit St. Pete/Tampa every year and every year we go to the zoo. We love it. It's great. I love how close the animals seem to be. The drinks/food are a little on the high side, but hey, isn't that everywhere!! We will be there again this July. Keep up the good work. :)

Love this zoo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/09
It is so family friendly there are a lot of interactive things that your family can do with the animals... and the animals all look well cared for. I was really impressed with the manatee rehab hospital. It was amazing to see and hear about how many manatees that this zoo has saved. Bravo Lowry park!(as for a previous review I would like to counter it and inform him that the zoo does in fact have penguins)

Pay as you go zoo
By Savalot, 07/20/08
This has to be the WORST zoo I have ever been too. Very disappointing as a florida resident. Pass this one up and go to the Tampa Aquarium or Central FL zoo.
