Westchase Golf Club
Located in northwest Tampa, Westchase is one of the better upscale courses in the Bay area. The natural setting and the well manicured fairways and greens of this course surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads are what set it apart. The front nine gives off a tree-lined Carolina look and the back features water hazards galore. But, more than anything, you'll appreciate the fabulous playing conditions of this layout brought to life by Clifton, Ezell & Clifton golf design group. The greens are large averaging more than 5,000 square feet, are gently contoured and a pleasure to putt on. The golf club is home to various golfing events from time to time. You can also host private events and parties at this venue. Check website for more details.
Very nice course, where water comes into play on almost every hole. Well maintained course, greens were quick and recently rolled. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape, but a bit long. Played with group of 10 for a bachelor party and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. If you are staying in Tampa and looking for a public course, this is the choice.
Our foresome just completed our annual golf outing in the Tampa area and had the opportunity to play many of upscale courses in this area ( TPC, Cheval, The Eagles, Fox Hollow, Westchase, etc.) By far our best experience was at the Westchase club. Not only was the staff outstanding in their service and attention to our needs, but the course was far better manicured and groomed than at any of the other courses we played. We have played courses throughout the U.S., over many years, and this was truly one of our great experiences. The staff informed us that they had just completed a major rennovation of many of their greens and all I can say is they were perfect. If you had a putt "on line" it was in! Next year we're heading pack to Tampa and Westchase.
This is a challenging and fun course. Good holes, not punitive, but requires shot making. Fine conditions, friendly staff. Liked the wetlands, scenery, wildlife in an easy to get to, easy to find course near where I stayed (downtown area). Nothing really to dislike.
Very interesting layout-plenty of challenge, especially from the back tees ( I think a +72 rating). Wildlife including some gators, but still close to airport and downtown Tampa.(we stayed in Rocky Point area). Also had dinner at good seafood place nearby afterward -Catch 23.
A good friend and I have played the course three times now and we love it. It can be tough, and easy at the same time. Water on most evey hole. Course management
definitly comes into play. The course is well mancured, the tee boxes are level, and the greens tricky. 2 thumbs up.
I would fully recommend that anyone that enjoys golf, play here and enjoy all of the natural beauty that it has to offer. I am sorry that I have waited so long to play there.
Westchase is one of the better public courses in the Tampa Bay Area. I am a college student in the area and have played 15+ courses(public and private). Westchase is a moderatley hard course that is well manicured. Well worth the money

At par 70 and 6163 yards, Babe Zaharias Golf Course is a short but tight venue. There is a considerable
amount of out of bounds to be avoided, and obviously, accuracy is key. The par 5s are very short ...
At 6,032 yards from the white tees, this par 71 course is short. The elevated greens are well defended by
traps and have some radical slopes. There is also water on every single hole. There is one fairly long ...
