Boyd Hill Nature Park, St Petersburg

What a spectacular find! I've lived in Tampa for 8 years and, before that, Nashville for 5 1/2 years...not to say these cities aren't beautiful in their own right, but they can never outdo the beauty of Mother Nature. I didn't realize that getting away from the city could be so close and convenient. This park, with its natural landscapes and free-roaming animals, is a breath of fresh air -- literally. Put on your hiking shoes, don some comfy clothes and hit the trails. It'll do wonders for your state of mind. BTW, when walking through these largely unspoiled acres, keep your eye on the trees. There is a clump of about five trees that will catch your eye -- their limbs are grown together to make them look like one tree! It's quite an unexpected sight! :)
