Spoke to a "book buyer" at this store who had the NASTIEST personality I have EVER run into. I used to refer quite a few people to this store and was a customer also...NEVER AGAIN WILL I SET FOOT IN THAT STORE!!!
As a huge lover of all things sci fi and fantasy, I was excited to learn that the largest used bookstore in the state was just across the bay from me. I am a lover of used bookstores, and i enjoy finding old copies of my favorite sci fi novels.
Needless to say I was really disappointed when I walked into Haslams. Sure they had every other book under the sun, but their sci fi/ fantasy section was 4 short bookshelves towards the front that had more new books on them than used. Many of my favorite authors weren't even on the shelves.
So yes Haslams is great, but stay way if you are looking for a good sci fi/ fantasy novel. They just don't have the selection to make the trip worth it.
have been to the store and its a good place to wonder in but disappointed they don't have a web site where you can get a list of what books they carry/or one that you can type in an author/or title and find out if they have it. I live in Pasco and its a long drive but if I could go on the web it would be even better
Though now closed on Sundays, Huge assortment of new and used books nicely arranged for browsing. Even offered a selection of used paperbacks for 10 cents each. Seemed to have something for everyone in our group, young, old and older. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful, well worth the visit.
