Parc de la Chute-Montmorency
Parc de la Chute-Montmorency offers a multitude of activities for the entire family. In the summer, walk across one of two suspension bridges or through miles of parkland trails before enjoying a gourmet meal at the Manoir Montmorency . Winter can be just as relaxing, though daredevils can take an ice climbing course on the frozen waterfall wall of ice and snow. The park is located just east of Quebec City along Avenue Royale. Admission to the park is free but parking is charged.
The Montmorency Fall is about 10 minutes driving from Quebec city. It is a park actually, where you can jump on a ride in a cable lift from the top of hill but there steps as well. The fall is higher then the Niagara Falls :) it is interesting isn't it? We had lot of fun. You can actually spent couple of hours taking some beautiful pictures. If you are in Quebec city I guess it is a must see thing.
This is a lovely spot right off the main road with huge waterfalls sending sprays into the air, drenching anyone within fifty feet of the base. A long hike (which can be avoided if you pay to take the tram) up stairs and trails takes you to the top of the falls, where you can sit and dine or walk across a swinging bridge right over the cascading water. Continuing up the trail will lead you beside a tranquil river where rocks protrude and small pools form. The falls are right outside Quebec, easy to find, and definitely worth the time to visit.
The waterfall can be enjoyed by those of all
ages and physical conditions without any
threat of physical danger. There are many
beautiful vantage points. You can even
hike up as close as possible to the falls
until you reach maximum wetness. The falls,
in my opinion, are a smaller version of
Niagara Falls, without the crowds and tourist
The waterfall is beautiful especially with a rainbow, the walkways are great (if you're in shape), and the history is interesting. The only negative is the surrounding land on the river- it's kind of ugly compared to the rest
