Description

This restaurant, surrounded by a multitude of trees and some welcome shade in the summer, is located near the Plains of Abraham. The luxurious terrace provides a quiet ambiance, which is ideal for couples. The refined and savoury cuisine, which features such menu items as garlic soup and garden salad with quail eggs, is prepared with fresh ingredients and audacious sauces. A pool table inside and a bar at the lower level complete the comfortable bistro setting.

Hard to find but hard to forget

This is a must for me every time I visit Quebec. When friends are going to the City I insist they try this and no one has yet been disappointed! I am an adventurous diner; I love the ris de veau at Chez Bahuaud!

A real Gem

The food was a truly sensational experience. My boyfried and I had the Valentine's day 5-course meal and it was spectacular. The chef comes up with creative and exquisite creations for each course. All the meats are cooked evenly and perfectly tender. The service was great right from the very first phone call. Even though we were just students, the servers treated us with courtesy. This restaurant is set in an old Victorian style dining room which was very private and cozy. We have been to Chateau Frontenac, the Parlementaire and other celebrated restaurants in Old Quebec but this is by far the best. The price is very much worth it.

The Best of The Best

For twenty five years this has been our favorite restaurant in Quebec City. The Chef is a marvel, and never seems to run short of imagination. His wife, in charge of the dining room, is the embodiment of charm. From the salad to the dessert, each course is a surprise, a treat, a marvel. We used to go to this place and one other of Quebec's supposedly great restaurants, but always found the other places a let down. For the last several years, on our weekends in the city, we have chosen to eat both Friday's and Saturday's dinner here. The prices are very good for those coming from the US, and even for Canadians entirely reasonable. Just thinking about the most recent meal we had here (a year ago!) makes me wish I had time to head up right now!
